NSH shouldn't trade him, but if you're going to send him back to the taxi squad after he's played well because the guys you replaced him with "gave you a better chance to be competitive." He was replaced by 2 guys who haven't been in the NHL since 2018. Can I trade you Hynes instead?

Have you not been paying attention to guys like Romanov and others? Sending them to the taxi squad in between games helps the team financially somehow and saves money.

I didn't realize that was a thing, but I don't think it applies for NSH in this situation. I could be wrong though. Tolvanen is on the final year of an ELC, while the replacements are on league minimum contracts. Two of those cost more than Tolvanen. There's plenty of cap space too.
