Thanks for your insight...honestly, don't care who the stopgap is, or frankly what the return is (picks just as good)...you choose the comp that works best for you...just feel that Lemieux has outlived his salary, and there are comparable 4th line options (DiGiuseppe, Blackwell, Rooney, Barron eventually) for a fraction of the salary. Other teams that are looking for more of his grit may find the salary more palatable for what he brings to the lineup.

Agree, think his future is there...was thinking that Bennett might be better with faceoffs on surface in near term, but didn't research that too much. Totally open to how they feel is best to deploy between the two, but wanted to keep Chytil with Kaako for chemistry.

With Gauthier, just not sure what his long-term is with Buch, Kakko, Laf or Krieder, and Kravtsov coming in. Just not sure he'll crack the lineup ahead of those guys. Was thinking cash the chip to get the 3rd and get Tony outta here, obtaining trade capital to move up into the 2nd, if desired. Can see your point though on wanting to balance value a smidge.
