I wouldn't leave Stammer out. He's better than Tavares imo.

Disagree, Tavares averaged 38 goals 78 points every 82 games with the Islanders whereas Stamkos’ career average is 43 goals 85 points. But keep in mind Stamkos plays with way better linemates (Point, Kucherov, Lecavalier, St Louis) compared to Tavares (Moulson & Okposo).

last 4 years when JT91 has had Barzal/Marner/Nylander:
Stamkos- 260 points in 225 games
Tavares- 242 points in 237 games

JT didn’t play with Barzal at 5v5. Anyway, none of those guys are on Point/Kucherov’s level.

It's not like Stamkos' production is because he gets to play with such guys. He also makes the players around him better.

If I had to choose who's better of those two, I'm taking Stammer 10 out of 10 times. Doesn't mean JT is bad though.

What evidence can you provide that proves Stamkos elevates his teammates better than J.T.? Most of his linemates (Lecavalier, St Louis, Kucherov & Point) were elite 80+ point players before they played with him. Tavares’ linemates in NYI all had career years alongside him & regressed significantly after they were separated.

Let's think it this way. From 2013 to 2016 Stammer did not play with those guys most of the time. Kuch was developing in the triplets line with TJ and Palat, Point hadn't been drafted, Lecavalier was bought out and St.Louis got traded to NYR. His point statistics we're still over a PPG, even without these guys.

Sure, playing with good guys helps you to perform, but I still say that Stamkos has been the biggest factor of that team's relatively good decade of 2010s. Most goals of all players in a single year, contributing to several team mate records, making it to the finals, fighting back from severe injuries etc...

McDavid is EASILY 1st line over Crosby!!!!!

Well, in in 2014/15 and 2016/17, Stamkos played on a line with Boyle & Callahan. During that span he scored 141 points in 159 games (average of 73 points per 82). That’s pretty similar to what Tavares did with low level linemates. So I’d say they’re on the same level.

It's a fairly crap summary of the lines, considering that Boyle scored around 25 points each year, and both Stamkos and Callahan missed almost the whole 2016-17 season with injuries.

According to dobbersports, Stamkos spent most of his ice time during this time span with Callahan, Killorn, Namestnikov and Filppula.
