This is the first three team trade I have ever seen where it's abysmal for all 3 teams.

(I guess LA moves out money so it's fine for them but still.)

I would rather Rittch then both those goalies. He was an all-star last year and had his starting role taken by Markstrom

Rittich is Koskanen but his defense is better. He's not good. He was an all star in what league? Last year his save % was 907.

The Wings rebuilding does not mean they take on older players for draft picks and expiring deals. The only thing they get of value is Bennett. They take on aging goalie, forward and defenseman and take up cap space that would be used better, while trading expiring contracts a young player and 2 picks.

This is not a rebuild but a step back for Wings.

Ah yes, replacement for injury. That has a different title than was an allstar. I believe they call that, replacement for injury.

I just put rebuild as the title. I should’ve put leadership and veteran presence. Quick is a better goalie than Griess. The Wings get veteran leadership with brown and a young winger in Bennett and then they lose the sluggish fill and glendenning. Calgary gets a back up to replace Rittich. And get some veteran players. To help the 4th line LA puts Petersen in the No.1 goalie role with Rittich backing him. Get a young player in Leivo and picks for Quick. Wrong title didn’t know what to put. But I think this would improve the Wings better than what they are playing now and over the last couple years

Quick also costs a ton more. If Red Wings are taking on that much cap for players they don't need in the slightest they are going to want the kings to pay just like the staal trade. Yzerman isn't trading picks for veteran presence. There's enough of that on the team already. This is quite honestly the opposite of a rebuild.

Absolutely unacceptable trade for Flames. First of all Bennett would be traded just in case appropriate replacement. The next thing, why would they take G, who eats more cap space than Rittich. He will be sitting on the bench for the most of the season. Last thing is Leivo is really solid, so I dont think they feel need to trade him.
