A lucky career year of 43 points in 71 games doesnt not make him good or great.

He’s a checking forward who can produce offence. He is what a cup team would love to have on their 3rd line just like Blake Coleman is

If Sundqvist is your best bottom 6 producer then your bottom 6 will improve, because Brown is significantly better in pretty much every way lol, and I can call Kylington an excellent skating defenseman and it would be true, he’s an excellent skater, but that doesn’t change the fact that he’s a 3rd pair PP2 specialist at best, which is all Dunn is.

Sundqvist is going nowhere, a core piece of the blues. I would prefer to have Nick Paul instead of Brown. Ottawa needs to have a color name themed team with all the Browns and White.

Sundqvist was just a cap balancer, and not really someone the Sens can use. Just because he’s probably better than Watson, doesn’t mean he’s valued more than a bottom6 winger who’s bad at face offs. Dunn isn’t that good either, but he’s better than the options Ottawa has for 2nd pair LD. This also doesn’t make his value go up, he’s still just Vince Dunn.

Reilly isn’t very good either, but he’s an NHL defender, and he balanced the cap with the retained money.

Connor Brown, if you don’t know what he brings to a team, then you should spend some time researching him before you comment about him. Yes he had 43 points in 71 games, but if that’s all you know about him, then go back to your fantasy team, we’re chatting about real hockey here.

Just a word of advice, if you want to be condescending, be sure you’re on solid ground first, or you might not like the responses.

Okay and that’s why we have Samuel Blais, Kyle Clifford, Ivan Barbashev, Oskar Sundqvist all for.

Nick Paul is having a good season so far, and he was really good last season as well. He brings a different skill set than Brown. Paul can play centre, and is really good along the boards, but as good as he is, he isn’t as versatile as Brown, who can play just about any role among the wingers. This is why Brown is first among forwards in time on ice per game, and Paul is eighth.

Yes yes, Dunn isn’t actually on the market he wanted to see what they could get for him. He came back in the Lineup, Berube saw he was good scored a goal even. One bad game doesn’t define him as not good like you say. If we wanted Connor Brown just look within the Organization. Samuel Blais, Oskar Sundqvist (who has actually been on multiple lines and plays a very well around game), Kyle Clifford, Ivan Barbashev, I could even go into the minors Jake Neighbours who might even be a better Connor Brown. Brown by himself doesn’t get you Dunn and Sundqvist. Especially when the ask on Dunn was a first by Armstrong himself. Reilly is literally a 3rd Pairing Defenseman who would be redundant when we have 3 RHDs, downgrading Dunn to a 3rd Pairing. And the sweetener you think Blues want is a guy who we already have in 5 different players in our own Organization.

Just because Connor Brown was carried doesn’t make him better when Sundqvist does his job. He’s not supposed to just produce Offense. He’s a defensive guy, a better defensive guy than Connor Brown. Sundqvist doesn’t fish 3 pucks out of his own net a night like Brown does.

You don’t think Dunn will be traded, that’s fine.

You don’t know who Connor Brown is, that’s fine.

You over rate your depth wingers, that’s fine.

You think Reilly is a RD, that’s fine.

Connor Brown -2 Sundqvist +1 Reilly either side doesn’t matter especially when you want a 2nd Pair LD for a 3rd Pair RD.

Reilly is making 300K less than Dunn to play as a 3rd Pair when we have a 2nd Pair-Esque guy. Brown is making over 1 Million more than Sundqvist to do a worst job defensively when that’s what our fourth line is for they put our fourth line out against the top lines. That’s how they shut down Vegas, Colorado, San Jose top lines. Which you probably didn’t know that they have a more % of D-zone Start time. Connor Brown has 4 assists that he really didn’t do much for and has give up 6 goals while he’s on the ice. At the very minimum. That’s not including goals scored that he never produced on. Giving up 6 goals in 9 games. When Sunny has about 4 given up on 9 games playing top lines every night. Furthermore you have no clue the metrics of him getting carried while he wasn’t on the bottom line. Connor Brown just like Mike Hoffman won’t be able to adapt well to the Blues style of play because it’s just different from everyone else.

I think the Blues can easily turn that down. Dunn is a lot better than Reilly and Sunny isn't any worse than Brown -their even strength scoring rates are 1.7 and 1.8 p/60, 3rd line roles w/ PK time, Sunny is cheaper, scores more goals, plays c/w.

What did I say that was incorrect?

Edit - I should've mentioned those scoring rates were over the last 3 years. I'm glad Connor Brown is getting a bigger role in OTT than he did in TOR but he isn't any better than Sundqvist IMO.

What’s funny is he’s calling us Homer yet we are the ones who aren’t on the bottom of the league. Sundqvist does a lot of production but when it comes to small minded one dimensional people they don’t take notice in defense at all. Especially when the mentality is score goals when you get scored on over 40 times in 9 games. He’s saying we are oblivious which is fine but he’s being a Homer with Connor brown wooo 43 points he’s the best player in the NHL. For a name of sensibleguy he’s definitely not sensible let me bring the JFresh stats up when I get home he’ll see what I mean. Offense isn’t everything which is what I said when they come at me CF% that’s offense **** I’m talking defense. And when your guy is getting carried pretty easy to pull off 43 Points.
