I think all we need to know is he's a terrible enough teammate to get waived even though he puts up a lot of points. As fans, we won't know the exact details. But there is no way NYR do what they did unless he is an absolutely terrible person in that room (and beyond it, as he has shown). If Georgiev was the problem in the room...wouldn't he be the one out the door?

Even if he wasn't a bad egg. NYR have straight up stated he's never playing for them again. So they'd have to pay big to move him on a good day. But the guy is a grub so it's not gonna be close to a winning trade.

Rags aren't making the post season so wait until the offseason and buy him out take the 800k cap hit and move on.
