I look at your back end and your goaltending and it is terrifying. That is where you need to focus but JR has tied your hands somewhat.

Lmfao u really love that white for MP trade eh. I think maybe trading MP is an option especially with POJ but I think he’s definitely worth more than white. White really hasn’t been that good since his rookie year

I just think it makes sense for both teams. There aren’t too many teams that can make a trade like that right now.

But yeah I do like White. I really do think he would do much better in Pitt or any other team. How many times do we see a skilled player in a bad situation turn it on in a new setting?

Plus I think he fits the Pens mold. Young, fast, skilled. He has been compared to Bergeron as well.

This is one deal I like for both teams. If there is a better trade out there though I would be open to that as well.

I agree though, POJ is legit and although MP is a good player he is likely the odd man out. Unless they maybe look to move Matheson? Not sure what his value is compared to MP though

I would do Tierney for Matheson. I like Tierney but I like White more and I think MP could get a better return.

The back end is good but absolutely devastated with injuries. Once they get healthy and the play improves around Jarry they will be fine...hopefully.

I said all summer it was a big gamble to go all in on Jarry but they are going to have to ride it out.

Exactly! Our backend when healthy is actually really solid. Issue is, well, we have two defensemen who were regular NHLers last season at the moment (Marino and ceci). Yikes

And I guess Weber too lmfao

If POJ continues to play this way and becomes a top 4 regular, would you guys rather move out Dumo or MP? I know Dumo is more established, but if we are on this wave of trying to get younger, I honestly would consider moving out Dumo and have POJ, Pettersson and Matheson as our left side dmen. What do yall think?

I think it’s entirely possible unless we can somehow get out of the MM deal. An ideal world would be:

Dumo-Letang
MP-Marino
POJ-Ceci/Ruhwedel

Yeah It may be possible. I think they really like Dumo though, especially in the room. He is one of the leaders on this team at this point. I think it’s much more likely MP or Matheson is moved. Not like Dumo is “old” either

Also Dumo hasn’t had a great start to the year so I don’t think his value would be significantly more than MP

POJ is on a rookie deal, and as long as that is so MP isn't going anywhere. This team will move Dumo out if they need to make room cap wise down the road.

He still has 0 shot. People over look this. I think he has a lot of potential. But if he can't get the freaking puck on net he'll never be a top 4 anywhere. You got to be able to shoot from the point without constantly bashing it off the back wall. Believe me teams take notice of that, they realize you are no thread with the puck and then the problems start. He's lucky in that there isn't a lot of game tape on him yet. Instead of collapsing down to fight for rebounds they'll be looking for backwall bounces to push up ice. They also know they don't need to worry about them defensively. They can't shoot for **** so they can shoot all day, so what.
He's still very young though. But I think another year or two he'll start coming into his own.

This is really it right here. with that 3RD and 3rd pairing being the real issue.
As it stands now, if you run that, how do you move Matheson?
You bench the guy completely that contract will become a 5 year 4+ mil anchor.
It is already looked at as a bad contract, if you don't give him the opportunity to play out of it then you'll never more it.
The only reason we were able to move Guddy is he played out the perception. He looked useful.
They got to be able to do the same thing with Matheson. Because I don't think there is a single one of us on here who want to see that contract carried for 5 years nor do we want to pay an arm and a leg to move it.
