I read a tweet, admittedly the source is "trust me bro," that one of his teammates punched in him the hallway after the game last night. I doubt anything will come out while he's on waives still but it will be very interesting if it's true though.

It’s not his politics, it’s his personality in general, there are reports he got punched in the face by one of his teammates because of something he did or said and it’s a well known fact that Deangelo is a cancer in the locker room

Not defending his character...I have no dog in this fight. But politics is certainly a part of the cloud that circles him.

no bc he is racist, he has had a past going back to junior hockey with it...his dad says he grew up being racist bc thats how his dad raised him. And now he tried to get in a fight with his own goalie and got punched out by kreider with it.

It has nothing to do with with his political beliefs. The guy is just an awful teammate and now finally the rangers are sick of it

Why should we hold him accountable for what he did at 16. I simply see no evidence he is a racist other than the slur he said in junior. As for the Georgiev thing. That’s not ok and he should be waived for that.

Its just a long history of him, thats all. Its not just he became vocal in the last year about his political beliefs and hes getting judged by it...there are also big trump and conservatives NHL players, such as Seth Jones as an example, he isn't being black balled because of his beliefs which are not dissimilar to Deangelos in terms of the election validity and Covid. Deangelo isn't being waived bc of his beliefs.

Deangelo just was a headache one too many times and the team had enough and it has boiled over into the locker room with altercations. Really can you have a guy in the locker room after that or having a twitter burner account liking every time someone bashed his teammates including Georgiev.

Clearly for the rangers, enough was enough even though he can bring some pretty elite level offensive production (granted its driven by being on the ice with Panarain) its not worth the locker room tension if hes left unclaimed. Based on Quinns comments you get the sense fi hes not claimed he wont be with the team in 24 hours
