Claude Julien was trying to pad Carey’s stats, and he ended up getting Carey an extra goal against and screwed up our even goal differential on the PK.

If the Canadiens' penalty kill was in fact their power play, it would be tied for 13th in the league in power play goals scored with five. Except they are five shorthanded goals instead. Which obviously leads the league. I hope this all made some sense. Thank you very much.

Jordie Benn has quietly done wonders this year. The defense has looked significantly stronger since his return. His play is stronger, he is more determined, and has been making smart decisions on the ice. Thus far, no costly mistakes but rather has been the anchor Hughes needed in replacement of Tanev.

It looked like a failed signing last year, but thus far, he has totally played to his worth this season and hopefully has solidified himself a spot on the roster.

Notes:
-Kaprizov is pretty good at hockey.
-JEE has 5g/2a in 8 games.
-Spurgeon hasn't been good.
-Fiala might get a suspension.
-The PP is awful.

How screwed up is the Central right now?

Columbus has a 43% winning percentage this year, and they’re 1st in the division.

Ottawa isn’t the worst team in the league at all, but they’re probably going to finish last in the NHL. Which honestly is pretty great for the franchise.

It’s mostly the fact that Florida, Carolina, Tampa Bay, and Dallas haven’t played much. Otherwise, with the way they’re playing right now, Dallas would be number 1 for sure.

The Florida teams, Carolina and Dallas have had a bunch of games postponed. Coincidentally they're all the "good" teams so far.
