One full thread for 2 weeks of the season. A little more than 17 weeks in the season. I'll say 9. Good to see so many of us engaged in the season so far, especially with so many great storylines!

I feel like during the TD this thread will explode. Also I said 20 because I included playoffs and draft

Replaces Shane Churla who went to Florida. This is one of Montreal's weakest departments so hopefully it's a step in the right direction.

San Jose goes into the biggest test of the season so far (they must bounce back and get a win or they may begin a down ward spiral like last year). Going into tonight, Bob Boughner scratching John Leonard (expect to see him back) and allowing the NHL debut of Alex “Sasha” Chmelevski - rookie formerly from the Ottawa 67’s. Had a solid camp and other than John Leonard - currently our most promising NHL potential top6 caliber player.

A couple lineup changes due to the sharks core forwards struggling (Hertl couture Kane Labanc Meier) - while Donato continues to impress as he still holds his new top line position.

Dubnyk gets the start hoping to steal the full time starting role from Jones who has actually been good (especially great when compared to the past 2 seasons).

Expecting a good game from the Av’s (obviously); so the Sharks must step up.

I did watch Chmelevski play for the 67’s and I liked him he was good, also what’s your opinion on Hertl’s play because looking at his stats he’s been doing well offensively but not too good defensively ( based off points and +/- )

Not a great period for Valimaki, since he was responsible for 2 goals against. (Taking the penalty of the 1st goal, and deflected the 2nd goal into the net)

Great period for Montreal. Let's hope Montreal can build on this lead because I know Calgary can easily come back from this. Tkachuk is so good, he's a threat whenever he is on the ice.

He started the season off to his usual play level and then hes slowly gotten worse starting in the min series I believe. hes just not noticeable anymore whereas his usual level of play (even when struggling) is still noticeable if that makes any sense. Like in the past when he would struggle or be coming back after a injury he was still noticeable but right now (especially) last game; I wouldn't have know he was playing if I didn't know his number/ looks. We havent really seen Hertl be in this position (that I can recall) : he was still good last year and the sharks sucked as a whole. So we'll see how he adjusts to this because for the Sharks to succeed he needs to perform. This is just my opinion.

One thing yourself and others can weigh in on ( @papishark @RawZuccSauce420 @Klara ) (and anyone else seeing this);

I believe Hertl (whether he realizes it or not) is a guy who is affected by playing infront of fans. Obviously hes a huge personality and loves speaking the honest truth. But I think not playing with fans and being on such a long road trip without a home game yet / really any fans has effected him in the sense that I believe hes actually going to play better whenever there's fans. Like i know the no fans effects everyone but I think Hertl is one of those players that it really effects more then the average player. I think he loves the crowd (boos and cheers). Many sharks fans know this obviously that he loves the home crowd but I think this no fan thing is going to be something that effects him going forward. Obviously he can still play good without fans as hes shown he can but I think there's going to be a huge difference. More so then other players I believe.

Thoughts after two periods, we suck

Montréal has 5 short handed goals, and 5 power play goals against this year. Insane.

CGY looks lost. They have no confidence after a few losses against Toronto and this horrendous game vs. MTL.

They haven’t played that poorly IMO. The 2nd goal was a bad bounce, and Rittich should’ve had the 4th one. And I think they’re expected to lose when they’re playing against the 2 best teams in the division.

That's because Montreal is outplaying them in every single area of the game. Hard to compete when you are out skilled and outplayed.
