The deal makes sense for both teams. Cap hit and term are similar too.

MP and Brannstrom would be an awesome pairing.

I really do not know why most Pens fans are dealing him. Unless we go out and acquire someone like Dunn/Graves and feel like they are more valuable to protect over MP at the expansion draft, then sure, but other than that, does not make too much sense. Anyways, White is struggling and MP has been real solid. I think Ottawa adds if ever this deal was to happen. I would much prefer send over Matheson+ for White, but then I doubt Sens fans are interested.

We aren't trying to. People just like making rumors. With all our injuries at the back end, we can't afford to trade away a dman for a forward. Our offence on the other hand is looking great! Rookies Drew O'Connor, Kappy and well I hope Sam Poulin gets a chance at some point this season. So we really don't need White. If anything MP would be traded for an upgrade in his position, which would be hard to accomplish with our cap hit.

A. MP is off limits.
B. they aren't bringing in another high price defenseman
C. they aren't bringing in a defenseman they can't protect.
