Flyers decline. They have no need for another offensive-minded D-man especially not with that contract.

Meier has a QO of 10mil, no way Canes give Pesce for him

Canes won't do the trade but that's not a reason they won't do it, the QO is blown out of proportion it's not a big deal.

I think Meier would be great as a Cane, I don’t see that deal making sense for the team.

Meier’s 2 years of good priced control will be good for us but then after that, his contract expiration would be in the mist of a few people needing nee contracts. The cap couldnt support all of that.

Then you add in he takes a 10 million qualifying offer and the cap really gets nasty.

1) Pesce is untouchable.

2) Meier has a QO of 10 Mil, he's basically a UFA.

He's only a UFA if there's a team in the league willing to shell out 10mil for him.

Which team in the league is going to wanna do that?

Philly laughs. Burns contract, age, production and health are all fair worse than Voracek, (who has 9 pts in 7 games).

While Philly would like a 1RD, Burns isn't it. Philly doesn't need a puck rusher/point producer, they need a steady defender. And Voracek is still near the top of his game.

(Philly is deep in NHL youth and prospects: Frost, Brink, Cam York, Zamula, so might not be after more futures.) SJ would have to add more than a 1st and maybe as much as two 1sts.

I'm saying that hell will freeze over before Meier gets 10mil from either his qualifying team or another team, so he'll resign for a lot less with his existing team since he knows this too.
