I hope the dude is fine but for the Pens' sake it's good news. He's been a bad GM since 2017

I was about to do that, but I figured stupid is as stupid does.

I know for sure he has 2 Cups, but I believe he has 1 or 2 from the 90s. I could be wrong.

Did you even know who JR was before 2017? Lol.

Tell me about earlier in his career, I don't think you know anything about him lol.

I'll give you time to use google...

His legacy is Kessel and 2 cups.

JR is a gambler to keep things going but at some point you have to stop gambling.

Honestly, he's great for a team trying to get over the hump in their prime time.
What he is not is a guy you want moving a team forward in an closing window. He just makes poor decisions that have negative consequences. For every brilliant move there is a bad one and then he can't admit it and it spirals.

You can bet if he wants to GM again a team wanting to go all in to win will look him up. As they should. He'll put your team all in.
But at some point you can't be all in all the time and expect to win. Which is what he never learned. Pick and choose your spots.

Sorry its a joke haha. (Without looking it up i swear) he played Goal for the Wings in the 70’s and was the manager for the whalers/canes and won the cup with the org in 06. I just get a huge kick out of the Matheson thing.

Definitely agree. He has the chiarelli issue of giving up on players too early imo and his drafting record is very spotty. Trades is where he excels but it’s been rough the past few trades though. Pearson for Gudbranson comes to mind.

He grabbed Gudbranson because he needed depth and Pearson didn't do **** on the penguins.
He then sent Guddy packing for nothing. So I don't know why you think that was some awful exchange. If anything Guddy played better on the penguins than Pearson who was basically soft and non existent.

These aren't the things that sank him.
Just clutching onto troll arguments.

This team is stacked with young talent. A lot of it due to JR time here. MP, Marino, POJ, Maniscalco.
Kap, McCann, OConnor.
Rust Blueger Jake were already here.

Even Zucker and Dumo aren't that old. There is a ton of talent on this team. More than enough to be competitive and win a cup if they stay healthy.

Of course there were some mistakes that hurt the team. But not the ones you want to troll on. They were the bad signings like JJ and Ceci and Hunwick before that.
The horrible moves at trying to find a 3C after Bonino left. A constant problem that hasn't resolved.
The only real bad trade he made was the Matheson trade but we don't know how that's going to turn out yet. It's bad not because of play but length. That contract is and was at the time of trade harder to move to say Seattle.

I don't know what you are talking about his draft record for. He's done great with little draft capital.
You simply better find somewhere else to troll because you look foolish.

I certainly have no intent of trolling. That’s not my thing, if I were I’d put less effort into that. I’m also going to admit my being wrong about his trading, he’s been really solid. Especially the Marino deal (still scars) losing Kahun wasn’t smart and bringing in that horrible Johnson deal doesn’t help. Drafting is where I disagree, in Carolina he had a few hits (lindholm and skinner) but guys like Zach Boychuck, Philippe Paradis,Igor Knayzev, Ryan Murphy, and David Tanabe all taken early is a huge L. Poulin looks pretty solid but he’s really rough at the draft floor. He really pulled them out of mediocrity in 2014 and 2015 and thats huge, but there are definitely some holes.

How many 1st round picks did he make for the penguins? 2 Kap and Poulin. Kap turned out fine, Poulin looks solid.
He didn't keep any draft picks so to sit here and be like, his drafting is flawed....I mean hell he didn't even keep around 2nd round picks. Almost everyone he drafted, even sprong, he traded away. And he got value out of it.
So in order to draft bad you have to A. actually draft, and B. keep those players to see what happens. He did neither.
So I don't get how you think his time with the penguins his "drafting" was an issue. It wasn't because there basically was none.

He had a top 15 pick almost every year with the Canes- squandered most exception is Staal, Skinner, Lindholm. And even his second rounders haven’t been good, Sprong will never be what he was supposed to and most of the guys outside that I’ve never even heard of (And I’ve heard of Philippe Paradis)

What do the canes have to do with the penguins?

And his second rounders ended up just fine for the penguins. Sprong turned into MP. Addison to Zucker. I mean the guy was here for what 5 drafts 6?
A 2nd round pick has a less than 25% chance of sticking and he basically got value out of them. How does one call that bad drafting?
Hell he was picking at bottom of the 2nd round like every year that he got anything out of those picks is just fine.
