Based on the description I was expecting a much less reasonable 3-way trade but to be totally honest, its not bad. I think someone a little more valuable than Helleson should be in his place but the rest looks pretty solid.

I really don’t want to trade wahlstrom, but in this case you have to do it if dunn is on the table. Wahlstrom is more of a need for the isles but dunn is already an elite defenseman.

I wanted to make it at least somewhat legit. Really I just don't see why there would be a third team without the frivolity factor, which was why I went there in the description.

Mostly agree on Helleson not being a good enough piece, but I will also say that I also think he's underrated.

That’s a fair take, doubt the isles are interested in dunn anyways and apparently Lou has not been willing to include wahlstrom or Dobson in a trade over the last few years so I don’t think you have to worry

You're getting Kaut though, so really it's Toews and a prospect downgrade for Dunn. Kaut, being more of a Trotz type guy (imo) might actually play though, so there's that.

Wahlstrom was solid defensively during his 9 game stint with the isles. Everything with Trotz is about age and experience. If wahlstrom was 28, he’d be a trotz guy. He’s physical, shooters mentality etc...

Neither am I (never liked the pick), but I'm in the minority with Avs fans. He did actually look pretty good in his 9 games last year though. Certainly exceeded my expectations.

Really? Which piece bothers you the most? I like Helleson but can part with him due to the depth at RHD. Kaut doesn't bother me too much.

Wahlstrom next to Newhook for the next however many years is something I like the sound of.

You don't like Wahlstrom? Personally I think he could be a great piece for the Avs.

It's not a slam dunk though, as losing Helleson for essentially a second hurts. Might be worth it to get (imo) the better prospect though.

According to Friedman the Blues' asking price for Dunn is a 1st. Not sure a very late 2nd and Helleson really gets there.

I could see Dunn being a fit with NYI though. But they'd probably do a deal directly with Blues and just cut the Avs out. I do understand that you're trying to include those 2 2nd's for the Toews comparison though.
