The 1st issue with this trade is Lehner doesn't appear to be playing at 100% so Fleury is the better of the 2 atm.

2nd issue is Vegas needs center depth, Stephenson is doing an admirable job but he is getting out played by other teams top 6. Stephenson is fast and that is what is saving him in that position.

The final issue is Minnesota is currently a divisional rival so Vegas would be nuts to hand a hot goalie and rookie that hasn't had time to prove what he is. The package isn't bad by any means and the cap relief would be awesome but Vegas can't make this trade.

Someone else posted a thread about glass for beckman and a pick so I was trying to expand on it and make it more serviceable all around. There was a suggesting of adding bonino back to Vegas to fill the center slot but again more cap gymnastics and my brain couldn’t figure all that out.

The problem is neither team have any cap space.

Sending MarJo, Rask, Hunt, Mayhew, Stalock through waivers and to the taxi squad/AHL would leave MN with a 19 (18 if Zucc is out injured) man roster and $4.4m in cap space to fill it out. Not the most effective way to open up cap but it would work.

With how well Fleury has played and how soft of goals Lehner gave up last night, I’m not sure we’re moving fleury

I don't know, with all the LTIR cap the penguins could collect that could work. They are in need for a center. But I don't see the Wild moving him in a playoff run nor do I see VGK moving MAF as Lehner looks bad.

I don't see MN trading (until maybe the TDL) Bonino. He's one of 2 NHL centers on the roster, and the only one that is reliable in the FO dot. He hasn't looked good this year. I'm not sure how much of that is MarJo being a black hole on his line, and how much is him playing over his head.
