Does anyone know why they are even offering up Dunn in the first place? I know that Tarasenko is coming back at some point, but their are better ways to relieve themselves of the $1.95 million necessary to make that happen. Am I crazy? Or is there something else going on (like has Dunn's performance fallen off a cliff?)

Yeah I was not sure of the Blues needs so I went with a couple of high picks and a top prospect assuming they want cap space.



His play has not fallen off, he just seems to be the odd man out in St. Louis. Maybe there is something else going on behind the scenes that is being kept away from the public.

Just found a story that may help explain why St. Louis is moving on from Dunn. Apparently they feel that Dunn turns over the puck too much and doesn't contribute enough offensively to warrant keeping him. According to the story Dunn averaged 40 turnovers or more in each of his first 3 years in the league. If true I would be ok with Montreal passing on Dunn, we don't need a Drouin on the backend lol.

Your biggest mistake is having Dunn on your 1st pair. He was the 2nd most highly sheltered defenseman in the league last year - 3rd pairing is the absolute highest you should have him.

I don't view Weber as our 1st pairing guy. Even though I show him on the first pair IMO Weber is our 2nd best D man behind Petry. I only show Weber on the first pair because most people will argue that he is our top D man. I feel like Dunn would compliment Weber over Petry just because of playing style.

by next year Petry-Romanov/Edmunson will be our first pairing

Weber and Petry are top-4 guys though. Dunn shouldn't be paired with either of them as he's a 3rd pairing defenseman.

For real, over the last 3-4ish year, what does Petry needs to do to be considered a #2 dman. He improved is offense the last 3 years and extremely improved his defensive over the last 2 years. Before Petry was bad defensively, we he started putting points he was ok, now we aren’t blaming Petry for anything. He’s just our best dman. Pile up the points, playing both special teams, he’s a #2 dman
