Description
Not sure on the trade value for Forsberg but I figure they get a younger cost controlled LW in Debrusk and a good young goalie to be the backup of the future and maybe push Saros once Rinne retires.

Low?

I know you post all things Bruins, and you have a solid knowledge base here, so I have to ask what you see in Vladir....... as for me this sways the deal one way or the other.

Goalie prospects (and goalies in general) don't tend to hold much trade value because they are such wildcards. Every now and again you get good value, but usually its not much. Good look at all the deals Ben Bishop (a solid NHL goaltender) has been involved in.

I just don’t think a goalie prospect interests the press one bit. Vladar is a tough one to project. He started his pro career so early. I think it’s one of those things where we’ll have to see him play in the NHL to find out.

You maybe right here. I just thought...... Sarros and Ingram. Duh! Vladar would be 3rd string in all likelihood.

Not to mention, given Rask's and Halak's age, leaves the Bruins cupboard a little bare.

I agree. It’s a weird angle to be talking up debrusk and then talking down forsberg. Why make the trade then?

I'm talking both up. Debrusk is off to a slow start but that will turn around soon. He has played better the last few games. His hands are magic and has already proven to be a goal scorer in the NHL. Forsberg is the better player absolutely but if Nashville thinks they cannot re-sign him, adding Debrusk would make it an easier pill to swallow.

Not really. They still have Swayman who was the best goalie in NCAA last year (nearly best player). They also have Keyser, who missed time last year due to concussion, but had a very good final year before going pro. I also wouldn't be shocked to see Rask sign a 2yr-3yr extension.

Well i think rask will be around for three more seasons, so i think most goaltending prospects are blocked in boston too.

Think that depends on what you see in Vladir. If his numbers translate to the NHL, he and Sarros look upnthere tending for 5-7 years, and DeBrusk is capable of being a 50 point winger.

That could be a smart hockey move.

they just drafted a goalie in the first round they have no interest in vladar

I'll be honest i don't see keyser being anything more than just an ahl goalie. ofc goalie prospects take the longest to develop so anything can happen.

DeBrusk is a fine starting point.

Nashville would be looking for high end forward prospect like Beecher or Studnicka + the highest pick they can get added in.

DeBrusk + Beecher + 2021 2nd (1st if BOS makes SCF) or 2022 1st (no condition)

I'd be fine with that should Nashville decide to tear it down.
