I don't think this works for Nashville at all. I don't see them committing enough to a rebuild to move a valuable piece for a 7th d-man, a prospect and a pick. They're still able to be a competitive team. A package would probably start around a young player that can jump in now, they need more forward depth than anything. I'd guess Vesalainen would be the starter in any package

I don't see the Jets giving up that much for two years of Ekholm.

Ekholm has a good chance at being exposed in the expansion. If they can get a Mizzin package this deadline for him they will probably take it

Side deals for extra protection will happen. A price lower than what Muzzin got traded for would likely get the deal down to still protect him. Nashville's still competing. They're not gonna want prospects who can't make an impact right away
