Description
I know this doesn't likely get him, but that's fine with me. I don't think it's a make or break thing for Ottawa to get Dubois, and I don't think they should chase him at the cost of overpaying to get him. Dorion should caution against making another Matt Duchene trade.

Détails additionnels:
CBJ probably gets much better offers, but this is the most I personally would be willing to offer in a trade at this stage for Ottawa.

If CBJ is hard line on asking for at least on of Stützle, Sanderson, Norris, Batherson or the 2021 1st, I would walk away without hesitation. I think there's a package where Trading Brannstrom makes sense (though i think the Sens are really showing why their D needs a player with his abilities) and I don't feel great about trading JBD, but its not necessarily a deal breaker.

i cant see him moving norris that would be a dealbreaker for me tbh. I could see like Pinto + brown + 1st or something

This is a good final offer. The max I'd give is White, Sanderson/Brann, Logan and the protected (top 3) 1st. I just don't know which direction CBJ wants to go. Do they want prospects? Or do they still want to compete?

I really don't like giving up the 2022 1st either honestly, that draft seems loaded (Wright and Lambert in particular are fantastic). If White (floor as 3C imo, 2nd line upside), two former 1st round picks with some development under their belt, and a high 2nd doesn't get it done I don't know that I would want to add much more than like, Abramov and/or one or two of the rentals (Galchenyuk, Reilly, etc.)

I don't think they're trying to enter into the prospect developing business. Aside from an overpay, Columbus probably looks elsewhere since Ottawa's assets are more-or-less prospects.

I probably won't be fully comfortable trading a 1st ever again after the last few years tbh. Until the Sens are a President's Trophy team at the deadline, there's always going to be risk.

That said, if you add Dubois, keep your 2021 1st, and get another year of growth from Tkachuk, Stützle, Norris, Batherson, Chabot, and add Brannstrom JBD and possibly Sanderson as full time Dmen next year they're probably good enough to not really have to worry about Wright or Lambert going the other way.

Logan Brown makes the most sense as the first piece of the deal, but it’s difficult getting people to see past their bias to see his value. It’s like Zaitsev, playing against the leagues best players, and then they back him off and let Gudbranson take some of the tougher matchups and suddenly Zaitsev is playing better. I’m not saying CBJ take a deal with Brown, just that he’s a good first piece.

I think five pieces is too much, but we’ll know better in the next 24 hours.

If Ottawa is adding Brown and White, Pinto becomes way more important to keep imo. You're probably looking at a 1-2-3 long term of Dubois-Norris-Pinto, with Pinto likely becoming a key faceoff specialist.

I'd be willing to entertain Jarventie before Pinto.
