They are in a 2 year window with the way their team is built. They need to try and go for it this year. Maybe they sell off at the TDL if things don't work out. Maybe they try again next year with what they have and then sell at the TDL next season f things don't work out.

They have a lot of rental+1s that could get good returns Jones, Domi, Jenner, both goalies.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Domi given a 5 year extension?

I actually agree with you there, except for two specific points.

1) Boldy's floor is considered to be a top 9 player, Rossi's floor is considered to be a 2nd line center. Rossi is for the most part considered to have the higher floor of the two prospects. I'd agree, however, that the way Boldy has progressed and looked of late means more then likely he's going to hit his potential ceiling of a top 6 guy.

Rossi's had a rough go of it lately, there's no doubt about that. But I don't think that necessarily drops his value or his ceiling at all, but it does push back his development a bit. So you're right there.

2) Khovanov seems to be back on track playing in the VHL this is once again producing and more importantly his attitude has dramatically improved as well. There's still a high chance he may well yet work out.

Actually Rossi's floor is a bust. Even a lot of the talking heads aren't sure if his game will translate to the NHL or how much more there is left after last year's giant leap.

Domi signed a 2 year deal that takes him to UFA status. The guy he was traded for signed a big extension with MTL.

I agree, Rossi has bust potential and this is coming from someone who had him ranked 4th on my board last year. There's a possibility his size becomes an issue considering he has average speed.

Which talking heads are those? Because I haven't seen anything along those lines... yet. The only one I've seen that really dropped him in their rankings was Pronman, and he still thinks Rossi will be an NHL'er. By contrast Wheeler is still pretty high on Rossi.

But in terms of other prospect analyst's worth a damn, I have haven't seen or heard anyone implicitly say Rossi was a bust. Or had the potential to do so.

I keep hoping Rossi's speed will improve with a quality skating coach. Missing so much time this year from COVID is really a setback to that.

Could not agree more. He's a decent east-west skater, just needs to add some speed and acceleration. Missing this year is a major set-back since these are crucial development years.

I’m 50% Norwegian...can I be of some service here?

Do you have a Norwegian grandmother you would like to move to Columbus so that she could start a Norwegian baked goods shop?

IMO, his floor is being Granlund 2.0 - can’t cut it at center, but a crafty, gritty, hard-working, smallish wing who contributes in all 3 zones and scores 40-65 points a year.
