If they wont play him

Description
I see no point in keeping Dermott to play him 8mins a night. IMO he’s got more to show but with Rielly/Brodie and Muzzin/Holl working, they should move him for bottom six forward. Let’s give Sandin those 8 mins 🤷‍♂️
Maybe a pick needs to be added, or b/c prospect but this helps both teams. One, trading between Canadian teams is easier for Covid protocols, Jets could use a puck moving LD.

When healthy, what the rosters could look like.

Jets need a top 2 Dman, their bottom 4 already consists of Poink and Forbort with guys competing such as Stanley, Heinola, Samberg, Poolman, and Beaulieu so Dermott does not make sense for them.

You're not getting anywhere close to a top 2 d-man for Roslovic.

Doesn't work for Toronto. They don't have the cap to sign Roslovic. And reports are that Roslovic wants to play top 6 mins, Leafs don't have that spot either. Doesn't make sense to get him.

You know the Jets better than I do but IMO Dermott would be a upgrade over Stanley, Forbort, Beaulieu.

I said this was a fair trade and leafs fans blasted me telling me how superior dermott was lol. I think it makes some sense for both teams. Improves Toronto’s depth and gives Winnipeg a D upgrade.

We are playing Vesey in the top six, of course they could use Roslovic and he is not signing a huge deal with the season already starting.

Its hard to say from a jets fan's perspective because Forbot has been good for us and Heinola/ Stanley has been promising so far.

Maybe I’m wrong but if a team could give Dermott a larger role he would make a very good 3-4 Dman

Given the Jets already have, in no particular order, JMo, Heinola, Samberg, Stanley, Forbort, Beaulieu and Niku as LHD already, getting another bottom pair LHD is probably the last thing that we need. Maybe we need wingers or a starting goalie less, but you know what I mean.

JMo is locked in on the top pair. Forbort has been incredibly steady and as advertised with Pionk. Big Logan Stanley has really impressed in the 3 games he's played so far. Samberg hasn't seen time yet. Beaulieu will be looking to move back over to the left side now that DeMelo is back in. It's already super crowded with high draft pedigree guys looking to break into the league. Dermott is just adding to the deepest part of our prospect pool.

I'd rather have a pick or hold Roslovic to give to Seattle in the expansion draft than do this.

I have seen on other posts that the Jets are looking for a puck moving LD. I know every fan base values there prospects more than others, IMO we are wasting Dermott. Maybe the fit isn’t there with everything you said. Thx

Vesey is a LW. Roslovic is a C/RW. So where does that fit in the top 6 in Toronto? You're saying he'd take the place of any of Matthews, Marner, Tavares, or Nylander. Even the 3rd line has Kerfoot and Hyman on it. Both players better than Roslovic. So where does he fit? .. 4th line (maybe). He wouldn't be happy with that and Toronto doesn't have the cap to add a useless 4th liner. It makes no sense to get him.

Nylander prefers to play his off wing. It makes a lot of sense to trade from a position of strength, LD, for another forward.
Hyman Matthews Marner
Nylander Tavares Roslovic
Mikheyev Kerfoot Simmonds
Barabanov Spezza Boyd

Looks good to me

Nylander has been on the right wing all year. He said he would play the left side if needed because it helps with break outs. That was if they put Mikheyev in the top 6 because Mikheyev prefers the right side. & it's much smarter to keep Dermott, and put Mikheyev in the top 6 anyways. & funny how you keep running right past the fact of the salary cap every time it's brought up..

It makes no sense for Toronto. End of story.

😂 makes sense to keep Dermott. He plays 8 mins a night. This 100 percent makes sense, end of story.

I said getting Roslovic makes no sense. Dermott can be traded for something useful or kept for defensive depth. Teams at always adding depth at the deadline so why not keep it? ... but yeah, you still make a ton on sense 🙄😂

Okay this isn't the first time that you've tried to somehow use this as a defence to make your point. It doesn't work. I've told you before and I'd bet my life on it, I never made that proposal. So whether you've got me mixed up or you're just trolling, stop. I'll just tell you this time before I start reporting you for trolling.

If you want to have actual hockey talk, then talk. But don't pull bull**** outta your ass for no reason.
