What on earth is people’s obsession with Poehling right now? He isn’t an NHLer. He wasn’t able to crack the lineup in the playoffs, and he won’t now that we’re much deeper.

i'm a Mete fan but i could see him doing well in an offensive-ish role and plus he is on the roster and depending on if Byron is out MB might not call up anyone so Mete would have to play

He’d need to completely re-learn his positioning. And his offensive abilities would be completely useless in the wing, since wingers have a lot less space than defensemen.

Frolík and even Poehling would be way better options.

Claude Julien says if Paul Byron can't go Victor Mete will be in and could take a few shifts at forward, even if he referred to him as a seventh defenceman. Says Mete has been used there for a few shifts in the past...
