Idk if any team would give up a piece of the quality that Suzuki is if this situation with CBJ gets any uglier. It’s gonna be a big package that they get no doubt, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the habs get him w out giving up suzuki

Thats why im saying its not gonna work as Columbus has a very stubborn gm (Jarmo Kekäläinen) and when he has his eyes on something he wont relent. Thats why many players want out or leave the organization. For now his asking price is Suzuki but things could change.

But if he actually relents I would be shocked.

I honestly think hes going to Calgary as remember earlier Monahan was on the block and things quieted down. I honestly think hes going there.

When I heard the asking price was Suzuki I was like its one of those trades that while it looks good it can come back to bite

I believe its an intriguing trade as Cgy gets a solid 1C who they have control of (RFA wise) and CBJ get 3 years of an offensively gifted Monahan and other assets.

This allows both teams to stay competitive and for CBJ there cup window is very short (2-3 yrs max) so they need help now rather than later

Honestly Montreal is going to pay more than anywhere else Jarmo kekaleinen isn’t trading him where he wants to go unless he gets what he wants (Suzuki) and Bergervin isn’t doing that.
