I would make that Winnipeg trade very easily, my only concern is with Klefbom out, our LHD depth isn't great.

For the LA trade, is 2-5 years of a doughty past him prime worth a 1st and Broberg, who could be impact players for a decade plus. I am bullish on Doughty, I still think he's a great player, but you would be on the hook for his contract which is paying for what he was and not what he is. The Oilers would probably be much better off opting to keep their young touted prospects for the time being

My thought is that although Doughty is older, he fits in the win now window with Connor and Leon.

Broberg could turn out to be an abosolute stud, or a middle D man...I am trying to speed up the compete timeline here so Connor and Leon believe headed in winning direction, not the let's wait around for prospects to develop.

Also this is 21-22 roster so hopefully Klef is back

Don't see the Jets trading 4 years of Ehlers for one year of Nurse.

Even when connor and leon are not in there prime they will still be amazing and keeping those prospects will help us past and a little bit during there prime.

SKATR charts aren't given much credence around here but does the fact that Doughty's is 20th percentile mean something to folks around here?

Winnipeg wouldn't consider that offer for a minute, Seattle would want more not to take Jones, Klefbom or Nurse (whichever one you expose), and Los Angeles wouldn't trade Doughty without getting the value of at least three firsts (think Yamamoto, Bouchard and the 2021 pick, not some over-the-horizon choice)

I think getting the King's to retain $3M on Doughty he has 7 more seasons left on his contract.
