NYR 101: Like most teams, same as TMLs 4 headed depthless monster, future cap says no.
Here, we're short 10m the following year! Kreider and Trouba can't be moved for 4 years, leaving who with tradeable cap? Nobody.
Hence all the trades of shedable cap TDa, Strome or possibly Georgiev, Buch. Cannot place all chips on a 7m winger Nylander and 5.5m centre Danault.

I think I agree with Leafs fans that the value favors the Rangers but if the Leafs fail to do anything this year it might not be a bad idea with slight changes. They'd be able to run Georgiev and Campbell in net which would save some money and Buchnevich could play a top 6 role for cheaper than Nylander (although less effective). The Rangers would need to add another piece but if Toronto loses early in the playoffs again they need to change something.

I get that every team is competing, but the Rangers are still in rebuild (despite what anyone says).
this team is young and full of talent, no need to move anyone really - unless we are getting a true 2C.

With Buch, Kakko, Kravtsov and Gauts on the right side I think they are pretty well set for the foreseeable future.
In the next 1-2 years, they need to address their 2C/3C situation and the left side of their D.

Strome and ADA are the only players that I think will be moved at some point.

Buchnevich, Kakko, Kravtsov, Gauthier... now Lafreniere is playing RW.

overrated in this trade. Value is off

Buch is a 2nd liner. Georgiev is a 1B. Maybe add a decent prospect. But if I added someone like Kravtsov, Rangers would be down in this trade hard

so if your opinion is that the value is off in this trade - what does a guy like Nylander return Toronto?
or what else would need to be added so it is fair?

Nylander should get traded as a top 6F value . He’s not a 1st liner. More of a elite 2nd liner
