Picks could be added to balance. I thought of adding a first but figured I would wait to see what others thought. They get a center they could re sign if they choose to, a young centre prospect and caufield who I think has good “perceived” value.

This is of course if they feel it’s necessary to move pld.

IMO this is about the only type of PLD trade that makes sense. Although I hate the idea of losing Caufield, this is a case where both teams win. Danault keeps the Jackets competitive now and he gets to remain a top 6 center. Caufield gives them a very good prospect to pick up some of the scoring slack at the end of this season or next year. Poehling gives them a possible 3C or 4C option and Byron can play up and down the lineup.

That was pretty much my thought. I will be honest I’m not high on caufield, not at the nhl level anyway. I think his perceived value is very high and this is the type of move that would make sense to cash in on him. If I’m wrong about caufield... you still got pld lol.

I have been keeping pretty close tabs on Caufield though out his college career and the kids shot may have got him drafted but imagine Gallagher with a deadly shot and that is Caufield. He may not always be scoring but his effort level equals Gally's. Hence the reason I don't like losing him.

I wouldn’t trade Dubois for anything less than a sure fire prospect or #1D/#1C. A guy like Romanov, Suzuki, Zegras, Glass, Rossi, Cozens would have to be in the deal.

If I'm the BJ's, Danault has to come with an extension for me to even consider this.

Suzuki isn’t a prospect
He’s already a high-end 2C right now

He’s 22 and playing in a defensive system with non elite guys. Play him with Ehlers and Connor in Winnipeg and see if he gets less than 70 pts a year

Off the top of my head, I have no idea. That doesn't mean they don't exist/can't happen.

Not exactly a sign and trade, but didn't Vegas and Mark Stone's camp talk before the trade to make sure he was willing to sign there and lay the groundwork for a deal? He signed shortly after being traded.

He’s a low end 1C but he’s only 22. He could be the next Couturier but he won’t be a top 10 centre
