    $9m for Landeskog is bad.

Not sure the difference between Kadri and Dubois is a 1st and Jost, seems a little much.

Jost could be an interesting trade piece if he plays well this year. I think Columbus would prefer a scorer over Kadri since they are already great defensively as a team. Would Colorado consider moving a guy like Burakovsky instead of Kadri? I think a trade of Burakovsky + Jost + high pick would make more sense for Columbus.

That is exactly what I have been saying when everyone says Danault + Caufield + 1st is too low! Like seriously it is a serious overpay.

Danault is a very good C, but he's not at Kadri's level. Kadri is a consistent 30+30 point producer with intangibles. Danault's career high is 13 goals and 53 points.

Too high for both Landeskog and Makar, And fat chance of Jarmo taking a 30 year old Kadri plus Jost and a late 20's 1st round pick for PLD. He'll definitely get better offers from other teams.

I mean, Kadri will be 31 with one year left on his contract at the start of next season, where as Dubois will be 23 and at that same time. I don't think Kadri would be of interest to CBJ in a Dubois trade -- and Jost hasn't really shown much in the NHL and the 1st would be late (most likely). I can't see this deal swaying Jarmo.

I agree that the Landeskog deal (and Makar deal) is way too high. I think Landy settles around 6-7 years at $7.5m and Makar gets a bridge deal at around 3 years at $5.5-6.5m.

DID YOU SERIOUSLY JUST SAY KADRI WAS BETTER THAN DANAULT!!!!! LMAO!!!!!!! Kadri has more goals for sure but he still only puts up as many points as Danault does even on a stronger team. Danault is better in almost every advanced stat and regular stat category, defensively better, and is also a better faceoff man. I know +- is a convoluted stat sometimes but when the difference between Danault at +37 and Kadri at -23 = 60 points for their careers the stats aren't that skewed!!!

Fair point about age, that makes a big difference, and you may be right in your assessment.

Regarding Makar, I doubt Sakic is going to relent on anything other than max term with that contract. A bridge deal for Makar would just set us up to have to deal with a huge contract every single summer which isn't ideal. I expect something in the Rantanen area (6 x $9.25m)

Dude, no need to use CAPITALS. Speak, don't shout.

+/- is a deceptive stat to use. And faceoffs aren't as important as gets made out (though they have 'some' importance).

Advanced stats don't mean that a player is better than another one. Nichuskin for example has the best advanced stats in the league and he's a 3rd liner, not a scoring line player. If given a choice it's usually wisest to go with the offensive talent first and foremost, because that is harder to find. That's after all why guys who can score 30+ usually get paid the big $$, whereas defensive guys get less.

the difference is that Kadri is older, will be ufa, and have reach is top potentiel. Jost isn't a high prize, make it sure Columbus will want one of your top prospect.

DUDE YES ID DO HAVE TO YELL AT UTTER BS!!!!

+- can be misleading for sure that is why I said it can be a little convoluted. But when a player is 60 points better than another over their career it is no longer just bad luck or stat padding or whatever you want to call it. Advance stats don't prove a player is better, but they do help paint a better picture. Faceoffs are a very important part of the game for a center, teams always prefer to start the play with the puck rather than constantly starting on defense. I will give you that Kadri is a better goal scorer there is no denying that fact but to say that makes him a better player is just ludicrous.

You can argue that Danault is better than Kadri, that's fine.

But the hyperbole with which you're doing it is over the top. You make it seem like Danault is Patrice Bergeron or something, when he's not.

He is definitely not Bergeron, man would I love him to be Bergeron but Kadri is not MacKinnon either, which seems to be what you are implying. Danault is more of a Pageau type player and Kadri is more like RNH with even less defensive game.

Landy 9 mil seems high, Makar I would guess 6-8 mil. Not saying they're not worth more but with Mckinnon leading the let's take a little less and win charge...

Landy, Makar (probably Timmins as well) all too much and that's more than PLD is worth.
