Paul Byron has minus value

Why is everyone willing to give up 3 1sts for PLD? He is not Barkov or Aho or Draisaitl! 2 1sts and a 2nd should be max value.

Aho Barkov and Draisaitl would cost more than 3 firsts.. Not to mention this PLD trade is only giving up 2 firsts. Norlinder was a third round pick. Byron is a cap dump.

Norlinder WAS a 3rd round pick but his stock has risen and it would cost a 1st to move him out of Montreal

Norlinder's value at this point would be a 1st. Even though he was a 3rd round draft pick his stock has risen enough to warrant not giving him up for less than a 1st hence the comment of 3 1sts!

Just because a guy was drafted in the 1st round or whatever round, doesn't mean that's their value. Saying Kotkaniemi is worth a 1st is false. A players value is based on how they perform and where the teams see their development going.

By this logic, you guy have players like Brayden Poibt worth a 3rd round pick. Or Henrik Lundqvist worth a 7th round pick in his prime. My point being, don't judge a player based on where they were drafted. They were drafted at their spot because of how a team judged them to be against their peers at 17/18 years old. That does not determine value.

I agree with you on all points except KK's value has not changed. His usage so far this year is = to Suzuki and Danault in both TOI and matchups. What your suggesting is that his value has slipped because of under performance, which couldn't be further from the truth. That is why almost every deal for PLD has KK as the main piece.

A really I wasn't suggesting that at all. I was just saying he wasn't worth a 1st. If someone offered just that, Bergevin would laugh. He'd be worth a bit more actually
