Has this Dubois trade been done yet

Créé par: Shanesaw9

Description
- Dubois is an upgrade over Drouin, I see him playing on Suzuki's wing.
- With Dubois, Suzuki, KK, Danault, and Evans... Poehling is trade bait.
- Habs have an extra 2nd round pick.

In a way it is almost like the Pacioretty trade:
- Tatar = Drouin
- Suzuki = Poehling
- 2nd round pick

Its probably an overpay in my opinion, Drouin is looking good, but it will take an overpay to get Dubois.

I would wait until MTL's bye week to pull the trigger.

TBH most likely. There have been what feels like 100's of Dubois trades in the past few weeks with quite a few being MTL trades

Poehling = Suzuki 😂
No, Suzuki was seen like a #2C prospect
Poehling looks like a #3C prospect
Drouin have more value than Tatar ( who was a capdump )
But Pacioretty was what 29-30 when traded, Dubois 22 yo ...
Dubois value > Pacioretty value

It would still have to add KK since Suzuki is untouchable at this point. Although Paciorety has been a consistent 30+goal scorer, he's a winger (top line winger are less valuable than #1 Center) and an older player than Dubois.

I can't see the Habs do this trade during this season because Dubois will probably miss 7 games due to mandatory 2 weeks quarantine. No point in waiting until the 2021 off-season because either...
1) they don't need him due to the development KK
2) KK doesn't progress much which means they would have to give up even more assets

Don't see Dubois being traded to canadiens this year, even tho it wld seem he is alrdy on his last leg with Torts... if it's true what they say and Dubois rly does want to come to MTL that bad, he may as well just wait after this 2yr bridge contract is up and hope his rights are traded then. Or he can just sign an RFA offer sheet with the habs once he turns 24. That's my take

Dubois value > Pacioretty value

Not only was Suzuki not considered an elite tier prospect (unlike Cody Glass who was probably untouchable in all trade talks about Karlsson+Ryan, Stone or Pacioretty) but Pacioretty also lost some trade value due to the drama at the time of the trade.

Yeah Drouin > Tatar, Suzuki > Poehling it works out in the end haha.

True, but Pacioretty trade is looking pretty good for MTL so maybe Vegas overpaid? Maybe MTL would throw in Mete, but I personally feel like it's an overpay.

Also maybe all of this is just an overreaction from watching Drouin get pickpocketed on the powerplay and spoil Allen's shutout haha

It pissed me off too big time, but Drouin is having a good start outside that horrid turnover

I wonder how long before Jarmo just says enough is enough and trades Dubois for less than he should. Tortz benching of Dubois then playing him on a makeshift 4th line isn't going to go over well with PLD if it continues. PLD is trying to be professional about the situation and Tortz is not being professional IMO.

Why is Suzuki untouchable, Dubois is just further along in his development at the same positions at similar ages.

Bad news for Montreal fans who want PLD unless Montreal grotesquely overpays he isn’t going to Montreal.

Well money for one thing. Suzuki on his ELC and PLD at, although a very reasonable, $5mil aav is a HUGE factor for MTL considering they are against the cap. I think a lot of Habs fans on here agree with you that PLD is further along development wise. But right now the difference between the 2 isn't as big as some are making it out to be, so factoring their cap hits on top of that makes it an easy no from MTL with regards to Suzuki.

@TheFlamingC this and what @Blazingbat11 said. The difference in cap hit over the next two seasons is huge.
