Description

A few things need to occur before this trade happens:
It won't happen until TDL and PLD would still have to be available. CBJ falls off pace. they will fire Torts first but PLD still wants to be traded. Avs find out Byram is amazing at the NHL level also. Probably not a likely scenario in total. Maybe pre - xdraft? Avs still lose Gravy to Seattle and the Avs dont have another 5 mill tied up in the 3rd pair for 6 more years. Love Sammy but what is his role going forward if Toews works out with Makar and BB shows he can eat up the minutes. They could be realistically sitting on 3 legit 1pair capable LD by the end of the season. Avs could resign Cole at 1.5 for that 5/6 slot.

Overrating Girard much? I mean, Dubois is sometime overrated on this site but men, Girard is certainly not enough and I love the kid. I actually when to school with him in Alma Qc back in 2013-2015.

i feel like pieces would need to be added on either side but no, Girard is a very legit centerpiece of any trade

A #1D on a top 5 SC contending team for a #2C pretty sure value is close. Thats pretty cool seems like a decent guyj

Did you say #1D? Lol. I like Girard but to claim him as a number one then you're mistaken. And PLD is already a low end number 1 C and hasn't reached his peak yet. Colorado adds a prospect and 1st rounder imo.

Let me get this straight, you have a number one that isnt good enough to play on the PP or PK? Girard might be Colorado's number one (although its clearly Makar if not now very soon) but on almost every other team he wouldn't be and he'd be number 3 on Columbus. Great player, would love to have him on my team but he isnt a number one. Number 1s average more than 21mins a game
