Description
_________________________________________________________

I would LOVE - "If This Happens" - This gives us 4 very good lines to roll again.

- A much Faster, more Skilled, & even a physical Forward group.

_________________________________________________________

THE ROSLOVIC TRADE :
Always had ZAR & Riikola (OR) ZAR & Gruden.... for Roslovic
BUT
With WPG so tight against Cap.... I think this deal works out better for both teams.

Pens get :
- A fav young player of mine in Roslovic, a tough kid from Columbus that could be a future 2C but is a Top 9 RWer or a 3C right now.
- A Physical force in Lowry that re-units w/ Tanev & we all know that GMJR has loved Lowry for yrs now.

WPG gets :
- Some much needed cap room
- The best Defensive Forward in Hockey (analytically) in ZAR
- A solid & cheap RHD in Ceci
- A {B} type prospect in Gruden
- A 4th Rdr in 22'

___________________________________________________________

With Matheson on LTIR -
- Signed Mueller to be the #7 Dman, still surprised he hasn't been signed.
Plays a solid & Physical game & could be a servicable 3rd pairing if needed.

* When Matheson comes back from [LTIR] - [23] Roster players, will be $350,- $400,k Under the Cap (OR) w/ [22] Roster players, will be $1.1 - $1.15m Under the Cap.

Ehhh, I don't see why Winnipeg wants to give up to valuable 3rd line players for a decent 4th liner, a crappy 3rd pairing guy (take it from me, Ceci isn't that good of an nhl player), an ahler and a 4th. The overall logistics of the trade, however, are good. Good thinking. Smart deal for the pens (only, at least one of them would play 3c, no? Wouldn't that be the whole point of the deal?).

LA....why do they care? They aren't going anywhere they give up a 4th for a rental winger that doesn't really provide much during a rebuild. Given a 4th isn't a lot but it's basically giving up something for nothing.

FL.. I mean I'm not sure on the value here at this point. Lots of things to consider, player, injury history etc... but with two young goalies in the system that are supposedly high caliber like top 3 of their draft, I think it's hard to see them making a move on a goalie. Even if the belief is they need to develop. There isn't much reason to make a goalie move at the moment. It's not like DeSmith is awful, and they put their eggs in a basket with Jarry. For better or worse they are sticking with it.

wpg.. I kind of agree with MrHockey there. I mean ZAR and Jack are kind of a wash. Lowry for Ceci ....**** we don't even want to play Ceci. Why the hell would anyone else.
Everything there is just scraps. So if Lowry is viewed with any value I don't know if they take it. Only thing it does is clear a little cap space but that's gonna happen anyway next year for both teams as both are rentals. I think Lowry might actually be useful to a team. Ceci, is useless. We all knew that going in and yet for some reason here he is anyway.

I will say one thing. That Jack contract. Does the player even sign that? Would anyone even offer that to him. I mean ZAR got 1 million, he's about the same value wise on a player. This is the problem that WPG and Jack are having. He's just not worth all that much from what he's produced and it's hard to justify otherwise. I think no matter where he goes you are going to get the same problem.
An honest evaluation of this guy is that he got 15 minutes of ice time, way more than a 4th liner and yet had 12 goals and 29 points. That isn't exactly the kind of production you want to see from a 3rd liner.
That's what's called playing down the ladder. It's not like we are talking about a lot of excuses here either. He got almost 58% of his starts in the Ozone. So it's kind of like **** or get off the pot.

Practically our entire forward corps is bottom-sixers, so why would we want Sceviour? Switch the draft picks, maybe.

I agree But w/ Mathy injury... IDK if Riikola can get moved now.
And just thought it would help their cap, taking Lowry & he hasn't been great there since Tanev left WPG... But I think WPG fans hold more value for Lowry than I thought.

That was more of a "wish for" trade to get a pick back in draft bc we have like 2 - picks, lol

- I think my LAK trade was a "wish" trade to get a mid pick back bc we only have like 2 picks, smh

- I have always been a Monty fan & exactly what u said about all FLO young Goalies & having Bob & an underrated Driedger, They are pretty stacked & maybe Monty gets undervalued there?
But I really think he could be a just in case guy that could maybe come in and play

- The WPG trade, I think u kno how many times I have traded for Jack these last 2 yrs and when I was watching EDM game between periods........
and Elliott reported that Pens were in on Roslovic, I jumped up out of my chair, screamed in excitement, tripped over table, and fell on my face bc I was so happy, lol.
-- I love the Columbus Kid and think he could still be a Top 6 player & he plays with a swagger & toughness that is needed here.

But I have had Riikolla in that spot until Mathy got hurt & maybe he could battle Poolman for that 3rd RHD spot?
I also think I undervalued Lowry to WPG fans bc he hasn't been great there since Tanev left (analytically) & thought it would help their cap too.

I'm not that high on Jack. He guy gets basically 15 minutes of 5v5 or even strength time a night, and he didn't do anything with it.
It's not like they haven't tried to put him in position to. Clearly they weren't taking from the top line but the guy got almost 60% starts in the Ozone last year and basically came up with not much.
He is young, but the trajectory is going down here. Last year he took less faceoffs...mainly due to the poor results the year prior. It helped him, but hiding guys and cherry picking to get results is a bad sign.
It's smart on the coach but not great for the player.
I think the kid is ok, but he's not a top 6 player. Not at this point anyway. Could he develop into one. I'd say odds are low. At 23 you either are or you aren't. No one I think would mistake McCann for a legit top 6 winger. He's only 1 year older. He's a mid 6 guy at best and what is meant by that is 3rd liner with occasional spot play on the 2nd line.
It's not a knock on McCann to say that, he's still a good young player but he's just not that guy. I don't see Jack as any different. Except he looks like a bottom 6 guy who right now is playing at 4th line level. We can blame everyone else all day but at some point it's on him. Much like McCann. At some point McCann has to finish the goals at the end of the year instead of going ice cold.
