Is it really an overpay though? Seems more like a bunch of pieces new york doesn't want and Schneider for a young #1 center. It doesn't address CBJ's biggest need. I think CBJ would be looking for a top center prospect as a centerpiece of any PLD trade. Strome is a 40 point player without panarin and a decent 3C. Wasn't Deangelo just a healthy scratch on the rangers so I doubt he cracks the CBJ lineup. Schneider is a good prospect that definitely moves the needle. And henriksson is a tier or 2 bellow the type of center prospect CBJ would be targeting.

This is just the typical package of a bunch of things that you don’t really hate to lose for a big time asset. Not gonna work.

The only reason why Columbus would do it is if NYR had the best package by a decent margin.

Which means either Kakko + Chytil or a package around one of those guys with some SIGNIFICANT adds.
