rakell has stuggled for the ducks the past 2 years and they desperately need an offensive rd while drysdale develops so they swap 2 years of lindholm for 2 years of tony. evened out with picks

I wouldn't make that trade for Lindholm, Let alone adding both Rakell and a 2nd round pick on top of it.

Value isn't there tho.

Rakell is better than Strome. He's more consistent and Strome only had a decent season when he had Panarin on his line to carry him. Plus Rakell's contract is better for what he provides.

Then add in that Anaheim's 2nd round pick is likely to be high so it's only swapping maybe 10-15 spots, and this deal is no where near enticing to the Ducks to make.

For both Lindhold and Rakell youre giving up at least Strome, Tony D, one of Robertson/Jones/Barron, and a 1st.

Rakell is for sure much better than Ryan Strome.

Strome has Panarin on his line...the value between strome and rakell is not a second, Rakell a solid player on a good contract while Strome had a career year and most people know he won't replicate those stats on the Ducks without Panarin.

The flaw in your thinking is that the difference between Lindholm and De Angelo isn't "evened out with picks." De Angelo plus a first doesn't equal Lindholm alone. There's a reason why De Angelo is currently playing on the third NY defense pairing and Lindholm is playing on Anaheim's first.

By the way, Rakell isn't a center, he's a winger, and with Kreider/LaFreniere and Panarin on one side and Buchnevich and Kappo on the other, there's little point to the Rangers' acquiring him. And Strome isn't the scoring RW Anaheim is looking for.

Bro the only reason Rakell has been meh the last two years is cause the Ducks suck, if you put Rakell with Panarin I can guarantee he will get 30 goals, also the difference in capability between Lindholm and DeAngelo is astronomical, rangers need to add big to this

By what standard(s) has Strome been better than Rakell? Rakell outscored Strome in each of those three years if you match them 1-vs-1, 2-vs-2 and 3-vs-3, and Rakell outscored Strome overall in those 3 years. Moreover, I don't think even the most die-hard Rangers fan is going to claim that Strome is equal to Rakell defensively.

Rakell is 100% better than strome. However.. I do applaud your confidence here, no joke.. I've been toying with a trade involving both of these players coming to NY for some time and just can't figure out the logistics, so cudos. It makes sense on paper but what we would need to give up to bring them to NY wouldn't make sense in the long run, especially with all those expiring ELC's coming up. If it happened.. it would probably have to be something along the lines of smith/buch/roster player (to make money work) two prospects (or one depending on quality) and a pick (or two depending on the latter). Overall I would love to see it happen I just don't think its as beneficial for us as it would be for Anaheim.
