That 3rd line was why we won...they stopped Lindholms line and allowed the top 2 lines to play their 4th line

Once the team settled down, I saw only Niku and Wheeler having issues. Trying too hard but it is only the first game. I still like Poolman over Demelo on the first line but that is where our weakness is. First line RD.

They won cause Forbort saved that goal from happening and Laine went full beast mode all game long.

Should really try to keep it in perspective, it was one game and Niku hasn't played since when, almost a calender year? Definitely some rust for him and from everything I heard from camp he hadn't been skating with Beaulieu at all so they're not too familiar with each other which probably didn't help, having said that I was hopeful the extra weight would help him but he does get pushed off the puck easily and his backhand pass to nowhere is going to get him pressboxed long term, his biggest struggle is his inability to defend, I get he's an offensive dman but idk how the hell any guy who plays D and has made it to the NHL can be so bad at simple defensive plays that any dman should be able to make no matter what size they are.

The Jets D zone system is a mess, it's really where a lot of their problems come from, when your dmen are out at the blue line chasing a guy and your wingers are down by the crease you have a problem.. Lol
