Their preference SHOULD be to get the best offer from a Western Conference team.
They still have team control, so will have time to shop and sell him for a very good offer, whoever it is.

Right now it seems like mostly Eastern Conference teams that are in it. Rangers and Habs are all over the headlines right now. The Jets might be a good spot but they don’t have the pieces imo.

2 current PLD 1 for 1s would be Barkov or Wild Bill Karlsson. It’s a stretch, I know, but I’m always hopeful.

Habs can't give up two centerman and get one in return, that leaves a huge hole in the lineup that nobody can fill right now.

Habs need to clear cap space to fit Dubois's 5M salary. Si either Drouin or Tatar have to be included for it to work.

Montreal doesn't need PLD so they if you want KK or Suzuki or Caufield or Romanov the call is done. I don't understand why people don't understand that Montreal is good with their center depth. PLD is a luxury to Montreal no sense selling the farm for a luxury.

Even after they trade KK + Drouin/Tatar + 1st then you have to resign Danault as a 3C at pretty much whatever he sets his price at. So let's say 6 Mil. Then the next year you have to resign Romanov, Suzuki and up PLD to about 8+ Mil where are you getting all that extra cap?
