Just sayin’. Pens are a much older team now, and it appears that they have had difficulty managing the supporting cast around Crosby & Malkin the last few years.
Similar to Chicago & Toews/Kane.
Pens are not quite down as much as Chicago, but the writing is on the wall.
Pens always used to be near the top.
Now it has been a struggle for them the last few years.
I’m not bringing hate, I respect them and what they have done.
But it’s just an observation, and I think a fairly accurate and objective one.
I was really high (objectively) on CBJ until this offseason when GM Jarmo tripped over his own ego in handling PLD contract. This will probably kill the momentum they had, and have to trade PLD for a loss, and Jarmo deserves what happens.
Oh, and Torts airing the dirty PLD laundry in public?

that was hands down the dumbest F ing signing this offseason. I don't know. League doing him a favor? What? There has to be more to this, I don't know what it is. How does it effect his agreement to pay off his debts etc... I be there is a story there or something because it makes no damn sense at all this even happened.

Yeah I’d definitely try O'Connor over Scevoir in a fourth line role. Assuming Kap is ready to go:

O’Connor-bluegar-lafferty

mark my words. OConnor is gonna work his way up to 3rd line by season end. He's a better player than ERod, Scevoir. We'll see about Lafferty, I like Lafferty but grit only gets you going so far. ZAR comes back you get ZAR-Blueger- Tanev....McCann- Jano- OConnor in some combination.
There just aren't large enough hurdles to prevent that considering they don't want to give Poulin a chance for some really dumb reason as if they have anything to lose as Malkin is 34.
Whole team is playing on borrowed time and the Coach and GM can't figure it out, acting like they got a 3 year window.
