I'm calling it right now: if these teams play liek they did in their first games of the season, OTT's finishing 6th and EDM 7th
EDM is such a poorly constructed team. Nurse is just bad, Barrie doesn't bring anything that they don't have, Larsson is a number 4-5, Russell is a number 6, Bear isn't a top 3 d-man and Jones is a number 5.
Koskinen has no help and he isn't even a true number 1 on his own
* What is the definition of the "NHL non-roster" designation I see these days?
* I presume with potential for COVID complications (re: Dallas) - the "Taxi-Squad" are the allowable call ups normally sitting in the AHL...?
Cheers
NHL non-roster basically means that the player counts against the cap, but isn’t officially on the roster. It is usually used when someone is in the process of being placed on waivers, but hasn’t cleared or been claimed yet. So basically it’s just a temporary place for if the team needs to make another roster move before bringing the player back on to their roster.
I’m not sure what you’re asking specifically in regards to Dallas, but when a player is on the Taxi-Squad, they are treated the same way as if they were in the AHL (ie. Cap hit, escrow, benefits) with the only difference being they travel with the NHL team, so they can call up players without dealing with travel time or quarantine.

Thanks!
(I only mention 'Dallas' because of the elevated COVID issues they are under)...
