Mostly through various awful contracts Bergevin has confined the Habs to 40ish wins maximum for the next half decade unless something crazy happens

With huge potential for things to get really ugly

Trades like this are exactly what is needed

I don't see it as realistic but, that's the spirit, needed

For any good trade he makes there's another bad trade to offset it and keep the team in neutral

Galchenyuk for Domi = Galchenyuk never amounted for more than a 3rd line winger after he left and now finds himself a healthy scratch. We got a 70 PT season out of Domi and a 40 PT season the year after

Domi for Anderson = Anderson was a beast in his first game. He's proved that he can return to form after playing injured and missing 3/4 of the season last year. Domi was ousted by Torts in his first game and played the 3rd lowest TOI in his first game for CBJ.

Bergevin won twice in that trade tree.

The only bad things Bergy has done is trade Sergachev for Drouin and sign Alzner
