The rumor is Suzuki for PLD

I wouldn’t do that if I’m Montreal. Romanov and Suzuki should be off the table. They get Roster player + Kotkaniemi + pick. That’s fair imo

No it actually isn't Freidman did a 31 thoughts episode and said Montreal made an offer and Jarmo countered and asked for Suzuki. MB got mad and ended the call.

I don't see how Dubois gets moved without a center coming back.

I'll say it now, I dont think KK is that great and won't be a 1A or 1b personally (he's a solid number 2). Dubois you know you're getting a 1a/1b center. Drouin isn't that great overall and I dont think it will take KK+Caulfield and multiple firsts. KK alone is certainly not enough for Dubois but as you said he's projected to be a 1a/1b guy so that's great value coming back. You're going to need to clear some cap space and that's where Byron can come in. Montreal wants to win now for Weber, Petry and Price. The current lineup won't get it done. Suzuki/Dubois/Danault puts you in better territory.

The first part is only an opinion and not really founded on anything more than whatever issue you have with KK's game or is your way of trying convince Habs fans that KK is not good enough so you can lower his value and snag him for cheap.
This last part is simply your opinion, did you know that more pundits have Montreal winning the cup over Toronto because of the way they are built?
I choose to believe the scouts and pundits who's job it is to spend years of their careers watching players develop and projecting their ceilings over some Yahoo on the internet trying to devalue players so that they can snag them up on the cheap!

But Dubois is not an upgrade on KK who is projected to be exactly what Dubois is now which is a 1A or 1B center but here is the KICKER KK is CHEAPER!!!! and will be cheaper for 3-5 years

If I'm Columbus, I'm asking for Suzuki or Kotkaniemi. They'll want a centre with more years to provide and better contract control.

Danault is a no go even with an extension.

Depends who Jarmo values the most. I really like Norlinders offensive potential but Guhle is a lock number 4 defensive D with less upside.

And pundits/scouts are basing all their decisions based on their opinion of what they see. And guess what? They're wrong a lot (just like I could be). It's a crapshoot. Hence why Yakupov failed, Middlestadt is failing and numerous other first round picks in the NHL. Im not undervaluing KK. I watch his game and I fail to see anything that shows he could be a future 1a/1b. I see a solid number 2 guy. Sort of like Brayden Schenn minus the toughness who isn't a bad player by any means. I wouldn't call Schenn a number 1a/1b center. He's a really good number 2. I thought it was a reach for Montreal to snag KK where they did. Dubois though is a legit 1a/1b and an upgrade over KK.

Dont think theyll get a better offer than one centerd around Danault from MTL. What would other teams offer that is better than Danault, Guhle, a first and another solid asset?

CGY : Monahan (younger than Danault but he's been kinda terrible those last two seasons based on CGY fans on this site) + Pelletier + a first pick. Thats the only offer Id see as a better one, but is CGY willing to pay that?

NYR : Division rival so the price goes up plus they dont have any established C to offer. Chytil (Ok potential but he's not a 1C or a 2a in the making tbh) + Schneider + a first + something else of value. That offer is often on the table from NYR fans but I feel like this would means a rebuild for CLB which Jarmo doesnt want.

WPG : Laine. But then you have great depth at W and Domi as your only top 6 C... Not a great situation if you ask me.

ANA : Honestly, other than Zegras or Drysdale (which ANA would never part with) I dont see how ANA could acquire Dubois.

So, MTL is the right fit... Even though our team is perfectly fine as it is

Again all your opinions which don't make them any more valid than my opinions. I would rather have an opinion from a guy who spent years studying the players than 1 Yahoo on the net. Lets put it this way, I am in structural design. I would not go to a guy on the street and ask him what his opinion of my design was and take that opinion to be more valid than that of the engineer I am working for. Why should we do that here?

Los Angeles is in on PLD and could offer one of their young centre prospects.

The goal is to have 3 lines that can produce... Or Id even consider putting Dubois on the LW of KK. They could switch depending on who's the best at faceoffs. KK could play C during the play since he's a more skilled player and a better playmaker and Dubois would be an amazing powerforward on his wing. Dubois could also be trusteed on the PK and for some important faceoffs at the end of the game

Byfield one vs one? I doubt LA would do that. Turcotte? He had a pretty bad season last year but had a great WJC this year. Again, it would depends on what LA is willing to add. I doubt theyd trade away their first pick since even with Dubois, theyre not a playoff team imo.

Danault was on pace for over 60 pts last year and has had over 50 pts his last 3 or 4 seasons.

Dubois wants to play "on a bigger stage". Los Angeles meets that expectation.

I was referring to either Turcotte or Vilardi.

Not saying you should trust my opinion over the pundits/scouts, but your opinion is equally as invalid over mine if that's your measurement. But your not making an apt comparison when talking about hockey/engineering. One, there are basic mathematical aspects of structural engineering. There's not really an "eye test" if you will when it comes to physics. Hockey is much different. This is why scouts/pundits vary so much when talking about future projections amongst prospects. You can certainly use stats to back up your opinion, but the eye test plays a crucial role.
My point is simple, I truly believe Dubois is a significant upgrade over KK now and the future and I do like KK's game. But if I'm trying to win in the next few years, Dubois/Suzuki/Danault will give a yield a better chance than Danault/Suzuki/KK.

Dubois would rather go to a potential winner and LA isn't that. Unfortunately he doesn't have a say really in where he wants to go.
