Anybody know what would happen with his cap hit if the sharks were able to void his contract? would it just disappear?

That’s not happening, but if they did somehow terminate his contract it would come completely off the books. However, the only way they could do that is if he breaks team rules (maybe a Jake Dotchin situation?) or it could be a mutual contract termination. But again, he’s staying with the Sharks, and so is his contract.

Yeah I didn't quite understand why his contract would be voided. The Sharks obviously need his services and Kane needs the money. Sounds like a win-win to play out the contract. And maybe Kane has a big year - he looked pretty solid tonight with 3 points.
