Cant see PLD wanted a trade to team in a bigger market, going to WPG, when they just lost Trouba the same way. Yea his dad but I dont know. Also i dont think this enough from NYR. Like I wish this is all it would cost, but I cant see PLD not getting Kakko.

FYI, I don't think he gets moved before the summer, i think the Kings got the best assets to land PLD, especially with the depth at the C position in their organization.

Not even close to enough.

If Kakko or Miller or Fox aren't in the deal you're wasting everyone's time.

Honestly I think Calgary has a big chance. 2 top 6 centers they could possibly send back and they're maybe looking for a shakeup.

Jarmo kekaleinen Is it going to care where the market is he’s going to care what the best deal for the Columbus blue jackets is if the team wants to sign PLD and deal with the market not being big enough that no longer is Jarmo’s headache. Kekaleinen doesn’t move him without a Win in return.

No team that doesnt think they can sign him long term is going to pay the price Jarmo wants. Takes two to tango.

The issue is a lot of smaller market teams may not make a play for him as they don't want to have the same issue CLB is having with PLD now or in 2 years, even though he's really under control for 4 more years. Less suitors could create a tougher market for CLB to get the maximum return. I cant recall a player getting his "best" return in a trade when they've asked to be moved.

Tortorella on Dubois: 'He wants out'
According to Columbus Blue Jackets head coach John Tortorella, forward Pierre-Luc Dubois wants out.
TSN.ca Staff

According to Columbus Blue Jackets head coach John Tortorella, forward wants out.

"Yeah, he wants out," Tortorella told 'Rothman and Ice' on 97.1 The Fan in Columbus. "He spoke to the team, as we do here. It's a little bit different than [forward ] and [goalie ] were. This is a 22-year-old kid. It doesn't happen that often, so he has been honest with the group. I wish he was a little bit more honest as far as reasons why. I still haven't really gotten to that, but I think he needs to speak on that. I won't."

Dubois, 22, led the Blue Jackets with 49 points in 70 games last season and had 10 points in 10 playoff games. He recently signed a two-year, $10 million contract with Columbus on Dec. 31 as a restricted free agent.

"[Dubois] has had a good camp, but it's a short leash with me as far as this is concerned," Tortorella said. "He needs to continue to do the things to help this team win and be the best teammate he can be, or I'm not sure where it goes. It's a situation and we'll go to it day by day."

So what he wants out. Is he going to sit and not get paid? I personally doubt it. So Jarmo Kekaleinen either gets what he believes is a win or does nothing.

Different scenario, trade deadline, NYR was looking to add Top 6 winger, a winner etc ... NYR gave up a player that was not going to be resigned in Callahan & that was it from a roster that went to the SCF, & had another Year of MSL.... for (2) #28 OA picks . (turned out be Ho Sang & Beauvillier for NYI) ...... I mean I loved that trade.
Not having to give up younger guys like JT Miller, Carl Hagelin ...

Right, TBL traded down in that draft (2015 with that #28 OA from NYR, to the NYI for a 2nd(#33 OA) & 3rd (#72 OA)

Good trade for both its looking like .

Maybe but I’d wouldn’t trade Cirelli for Beauvillier straight up honestly and gaining Stephens whose also already a solid 4th liner and still can grow some

I like both those kids, Cirelli & Beauvillier. Don't think either of them have hit their ceiling.
Its funny, Cirelli was the piece i wanted over Howden in the McDonagh deal with NYR .... oh well.

Not a knock on Beauvillier. I think Cirelli turns into a 60-70 point Selke winner those don’t get traded

Rangers also had Glen Sather calling the shots staring at team he thought was one player away from a Cup run that deadline... Vastly different scenarios.

Yes Jarmo doesnt have to do anything until he finds a deal he wants. Yes there are teams that will want to trade for him. But its clear some small market teams will be very hesitant to give up big assets to get him if they dont think they can keep him long term. And once Eichel comes on the market when Buffalo is in 8th in a brutal division, Jarmo now has to deal with the 2nd best high end C that has to be traded at roughly the same time. Lots of factors in play here.

Sending him with out a win for Jarmo is going to be a really bad precedent. I don’t think he is stupid enough to send

I don't think PLD gets moved until the offseason, I also think, based on what we are hearing now, if he's not moved, he doesn't report to camp for 21/22 season. That's his nuclear option to get moved.
Still think the Kings or Montreal are the most likely destinations.

How long does he sit out? The club still has control for three years. He’s still a really pretty nail but he’s the nail and CBJ is the hammer

In the scenario where he's not dealt before next season, If he sits, he'll get moved, maybe not immediately, don't see a Mike Peca type stalemate, but he'll get moved.
He asked for a trade, if he plays the season, doesn't cause any problems/distractions, & he still wants to be traded, & they still don't move him, .. ... sitting is his only recourse.
They aren't going to let him sit for 3 years, Players are in the same Union, that wouldn't go over well with anyone.
The NHLPA would file a grievance on his behalf, it would become a distraction nobody wants, nobody wins ... No one wants a disgruntled player in their locker room either.
If the situation is irreconcilable, CLB will need to take the best deal & move on. They should do that while the situation is still amicable.
Like i said, that's his nuclear option. Im 90% sure it wont come to this.
No one watches the games for the GM's, im sure the league wants one their potential stars on the ice.
