Great job, i like the detail and effort put into it, of course, it’ll never go exactly as you predict but it’s a good job at one

Yeah, it’s about as much as I could do without predicting trades, and it’ll never be exact when projecting young players. Although for the most part I gave the prospects as much time as possible, not putting them on the NHL team until they’re waiver eligible.

I know a lot of people dislike the guy, but Mailloux has all the tools to be a solid top 4 RD

Yeah there’s way too many variables there, so I sort of just ignored him. Plus I was mostly only having waiver eligible players on the NHL teams, and he won’t be waived eligible until 2026-27. But if he gets his **** together both on an off the ice, then he could probably fit in the lineup in 25-26 instead of re-signing Petry.

Well this isn’t good news for Michael McNiven.

I don’t think McNiven has been part of the plan for the past couple years, he’s been stuck behind Price, Price’s backup(now Allen but it was a hot seat before), Primeau and our other promising goalies, he probably won’t make it past the AHL level

I wasn’t expecting him to ever play for the habs, but if they’re just going to play him in the ECHL I’m not sure why they qualified him. Just let the guy go and get more opportunity elsewhere if you don’t want to give it to him.

Interesting exercice, but boy this is depressive... It's basically the exact same team, year after year. Not good enough to win it all, not bad enough to win the lottery. Where's the fun?

I mean it’s depressive to expect that none of our player will ever improve.

And we’re in a salary cap league. You don’t win by throwing money around, you win by drafting and developing to have cheap, young talent on the team. Obviously little tweaks and additions here and there can be helpful, but those are impossible to predict years in advance.

It might look depressive but the future is bright.

Caufield is a potential perennial 40 goal scorer, Suzuki future top 10 center, Norlinder and Romanov are expected to be solid top 6 dmen, and Primeau is the future number one goalie. This is without mentioning other prospects like Farrell, Tuch, Kidney, Kapanen, Mailloux, Ylonen, Brook, Guhle, Harris, and Struble who all have NHL potential. Also, there will 110% be trades which is something @Kotkaniemi15 didn't include because its impossible to predict. IMO its the opposite of depressive and we've got a lot to look forward to as habs fans

Yeah, at LD with Romanov, Guhle, Norlinder, Harris, Struble, etc we're set, Petry and Savard each have some term and maybe Brook/Mailloux/Kostenko is our 3rd RD or else it's fillable in FA, at center, Suzuki, Evans, Poehling, Dvorak, Kapanen, Kidney with wingers like Caufield, Toffoli, Hoffman, Gallagher, Anderson, Lehkonen, Drouin, Mysak, Farrell, Tuch, Drouin, Ylonen, etc, it's a very bright future

Rookie camp is finally back, after 2 years! https://www.nhl.com/canadiens/news/27-players-to-participate-in-canadiens-rookie-camp/c-326083356

The invites are:
C - Tag Bertuzzi
C - Mika Cyr
C - Charles-Antoine Roy
LW - Thomas Caron
LW - Isiah Campbell
RW - Avery Hayes*
RW - Brenden Sirizzotti*
LD - Charles-Antoine Pilote*
LD - Arber Xhekaj
G - Alexis Gravel
G - Ivan Zhigalov*

The others include:
7 players under contract with Montréal
3 players under contract with Laval
6 habs CHL prospects

*These players cannot be signed by Montréal this year, and will re-enter the draft next year.

I really hope the habs sign Xhekaj, because that is a great name. (So is Sirizzotti, but Montréal can’t acquire him until the draft)

Also, there are 2 people named Charles-Antoine, and 2 people with the last name Roy.

Zhigalov still hasn't been able to enter Canada

This guy is a legend

She said he never made the NHL, so is he intimidated coaching players that are better than him. His response was "are you a singer" and she said no. So he asked her if she was intimidated interviewing and hosting shows with singers who are better than her.

Not sure where we'd fit him, I guess if Wideman can't transition to the NHL
