Danault's house is on sale.

Idk if I have detached myself from Danault, but I'd much rather have Getzlaf or Krejci now that Weber is leaving. We need leadership and I don't see Danault as someone who could step up and replace Weber's voice

And that’s it. 😢 It was a great run. Now 2 thirds of one of the best lines in hockey are leaving at the same time. It’s really going to hurt seeing Phil in a different jersey, more than probably any other player since I’ve started watching the habs. (Since there’s no players coming back to offset the sadness)

Now if they’re going to replace him via free agency, they should try to get Mikael Granlund.

Krejci isn’t leaving Boston for anything but the Czech Republic. I doubt Getzlaf leaves the southwestern US either, plus he’s a 4C, so he wouldn’t be replacing Danault anyways.

I think we are now at a crossroads with Weber gone and Danault/Price maybe gone, we can choose to use that’s money to go all in or use most of the money but do a retool/slight rebuild

Well we just went to the Stanley Cup Final, there’s no retooling now. The closest we’d do is try to sign a bunch of UFAs/trade for NHLers on the younger side. This team is all in.

Who though? I like Larsson. Martinez as a cheaper option. I still like getting Ovi though probably an overpayment there. Palmieri?

If Danault is gone, we need to sign/trade for a C, I’m liking Hamilton as a Weber replacement, maybe a Mrazek/Kuemper as a Price replacement

Drouin’s not coming back. Otherwise the habs wouldn’t be looking for wingers.

I hoped this wouldn’t happen but we’re probably there, Drouin is either going to Seattle, continuing his absence or getting traded

Laval has hired a coach!

The funny thing is that when you google his name, the 2nd photo that shows up is a photo of him with Joël Bouchard from when he was the head coach of the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada and Bouchard was the GM.

Another interesting fact, I’m pretty sure he’s the son of Réjean Houle, Habs great

Charles Hudon will not play in Europe next season, hoping to return in the NHL.

I was about to say don’t we still own his rights but apparently they expired on his 27th birthday which was a month ago

Since he’s not under contract, he was on our reserve list, and I’m pretty sure they expire on his 27 birthday

Pricey is safe! I found out while at the gym and the first thing he said to me when I walked in was 'your goalie's gone ha' and we kept talking about it until about halfway through he shows us the announcement

Now we could definitely use a league minimum 7th D, in addition to the top 4 D Weber replacement. Plus I’d like an upgrade over Kulak, preferably a RHD.

I agree with this, MB will definitely be active around the draft/FA

So now that Cale Fleury has been selected by Seattle, Montréal has 2 active RHD in the entire organization*: Jeff Petry and Josh Brook. And that includes the reserve list. As opposed to 10 LHD (13 if you count UFAs that may be back).

*Other than Arvid Henrikson, but he’s only on the reserve list because of a technicality with him going to University.

Yeah so MB please draft RD’s, Ceulemans, Heimosalmi, Bar, Iorio are all good RD ( didn’t check, may be wrong about handedness or forgotten some )

It probably got lost in the shuffle a bit for some people, but the habs hired Trevor Letowski as an Assistant Coach, presumably to take Ducharme’s spot that has been empty ever since he got promoted. He was the head coach of the Windsor Spitfires from 2017-2020.

Technically we have RHD signed to AHL and ECHL contracts

Technically the Laval Rocket and Trois-Rivières Lions aren’t the same organization as the Montréal Canadiens. Sticking Out Tongue

For some reason I couldn’t include the tweet, but Dvorak makes sense as a potential Danault replacement.
