I dont see Calgary thrown around as much as NYR/MTL but honestly, I think they make the most sense. They have 2 centers (Monahan and lindholm) they could send back and they've been rumored about wanting a shake up for a while


Think CBJ would keep Gavrikov over Hanifin here

I know that Columbus values Gavrikov highly, but as a neutral fan I believe Hanifin is the superior player and has the superior value.

Gavrikov is better than Hanifin last year and cheaper. He also apparently likes being here and we need him with the influx of young Russians were gonna have coming up.

IMO Hanifin might be the most overrated player on this site. Hes an average middle pair guy at best.

Interesting, the guy is only 23 and has so much room to grow. I see him stepping up as their #1D post-Giordano.

I’d say you’re definitely overrating Hanifin.

How? He's only 23 and is already an high-end 2nd pairing dman with lots of potential. People seem to forget that guys like Theodore & Jones peaked at around 25 yo.

Probably what it takes, tough to see it happen this year as Calgary would have at least 10 days playing without Lindholm, Hanifin, Dubois due to quarantine. I think this hinges on if CLB sees Lindholm as a C or RW, Calgary is probably adding a pick here

It’s better than some of the other offers I’ve seen, but I think if Columbus moves PLD they will add a younger player as part of the deal, (idk on the Nash vs Ryan age) most of this is Columbus giving up the younger player for an older player in the same spot. Any deal with Calgary would likely have to include Zary, maybe switch Lindholm for Backlund and add Zary. You could also drop Hanifin and Gavrikov from the trade.

Not a fan of moving Lindholm to get Dubois since I think it's just moving deck chairs. This is about as fair value as it gets like literally every single player equals their counterpart in from the other team. Seems like the only purpose it solves is making PLD happy but in turn pissing off Markstrom. IMO if Dubois is traded it will be for a futures package (look at the Brayden Schenn trade) not a trade of similar players that play the exact same role
