although I love PLD, I think as habs fan, especially in the French-Canadian community, we tend to overvalue him a bit because he belongs to our nation. At the end of the day, he is a great 60pts center will a lot of grit. but I don't think he is worth that whole package on a purely objective view. But for a Columbus team who doesn't have the depth at center, nor the many prospect, it would take a pretty incredible package to let him go.

The problem would be PLD leaving in UFA -­ but they have 2 years to convince him to stay. As for MTL, it would be weird to repatriate a Quebecker just to trade another.

You seriously think a 22 year old who has only played for Torts is just a 60 pt center?

Realistically, he might get a couple season in the 70pts if he gets to play with great wingers. But on talent alone, I think he is a 60 pts player (that brings more than points to a team. 60+ pts is pretty damn good.

Hes 22 and is an offensive player trapped playing Torts style, he has way more than 60 pts in him. Play him on a team like NYR or CGY and he'd easily hit the 80 mark
