Incoming Wings fans saying they dont need Letang. But honestly you could get a 1st and a good prospect from a contending team that needs a RD if you were serious about trading him.

for that kind of money the penguins should go after coleman.
Which is something I put up earlier.

As for Hamilton, any team trading for Letang, would just go after Hamilton instead. Only way that could happen is if they moved Letang at deadline and then went after him.
If they move Letang at deadline, he gets more than 2 2nds.

It's not that the value is bad, it's just not a fit. The stage we're at in our rebuild, adding aging vets on expensive, long term deals, just doesn't make sense, regardless of the cost.

Letang has one year left. Flip him at the deadline.

I’d imagine that Letang’s NTC has Detroit on it. There isn’t a huge incentive for a rebuilding team to trade a “late first” + for a guy they’d just end up trying to trade (may not be healthy) at the next deadline. Could we get more at the deadline? Probably but there’s still a risk. We’ve also seen that moving cap isn’t always the easiest in this economy but maybe use Detroit for retention to a different contender to bypass the NTC?

The 2022 TDL the teams that could give up a 1st and a prospect for Letang couldn't afford his $7.25M cap hit for a full season.
