Perry would look nice on the Leafs.

Leafs are about halfway through the order of waiver claims. Neither Perry nor Kylington will make it that far.

I don't really see the point for the Leafs to pick up either of them, unless the plan is to fire Kylington through waivers again. Perry-wise? At this point, Barabanov is likely a better option, and the Leafs (And every other team in the league) had plenty of opportunity to sign him this summer.

I disagree. Perry was a UFA this summer, and the only team that bit was Montreal, who gave him a league minimum contract.

We don't know if Montreal was the only team that bit or if Perry was just taking his time deciding. Perry on a league minimum contract should be attractive to just about any team.

Listen, I love Corey Perry and everything (Ducks fan), but he's at the point of his career where he's a liability on the ice. You want to win? Put the best team on the ice. It doesn't include Corey Perry.

30 point pace over 82 games for league min. Bonus in that he's an annoying guy to play against. If you are putting a 'best team available' on the ice, there would be lots of arguments to be made to include Perry.

Did the Leafs sign Wayne Simmonds to be the slow, pesky, annoying guy? As for Perry, he's a defensive liability, and it really surprises me that, after 8-10 months of people proclaiming that Nick Robertson is the next GOAT!, that you guys are clamoring to pick up Perry, instead of screaming for management to put Robertson on the ice.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating for the Leafs to pick him up. But for a bottom 15 team, Perry has a lot of assets that could be useful as well as still being able to play hockey.

And most of all ... I just want to laugh at Habs fans.

Sorry, for some reason I thought you were. I agree, he'd be a decent veteran for a bad team to pick up, as long as he wasn't taking ice time from a youngster who had earned a shot. Arizona? He and Kessel on the same team would be golden.

to me NRob is first man up when a top 9 player falls out of the lineup for any reason. Perry would be a nice depth piece for now and for the playoffs. I would like Robertson on the ice in the top 9 immediately but I don't think rearranging the fourth line has any effect on that as he will draw into the lineup when a top 9 winger spot emerges.
