He's signed for like 5 more years at $8,5 per year. When compared to what other players are making (Marner, Matthews, Tavares, Eichel, Backstrom) why would Edmonton trade him?

I firmly believe OTT is hoping that Sanderson proves to be good enough (in 3 to 4 years) that Chabot becomes expendable - then you can realistically look at acquiring that KEY piece you're missing - be it pivot or goalie or RHD...
