The penguins won't trade for Joe. He does not fit what they want to do.
Even when it costs virtually nothing. It's just a bad over all fit. They are trying to get faster, play faster, push temp, skate. Joe does not help them do that.

No thank you.

Boston tried to get Simmonds before and he refused to waive his NTC. They are not going to bring in someone who does not want to be there.

No need for a RW either.

I don't understand why Carolina would do this. Reimer makes less in actual money, he has a smaller cap hit, and if Toronto are missing the play-offs, you have to imagine that Freddy is a big part of that. Why would Carolina trade a goaltender who seems to be reviving his career in Carolina, in both terms of analytics and base stats, for a goaltender who's been traded by every fan to every organisation league wide this off-season?

yeah and everyone seen how that worked.
Can blame the Kahun contract for that. they weren't in position to deal with the potential bonus. That was a major problem.

Because Freddy Anderson is a reliable starter who can play 60 games a season. Reimer is a tandem goalie at best that’s why he makes less. Leafs will not be trading Freddy this year. Fans trading him doesn’t make him any less valuable do you not see the amount of laine/dubois trades.

Dallas isn’t trading their 1st for a rental, bottom-6 winger (which they have plenty of).

Hyman isn’t taking a job from Benn, Radulov, Hintz, Pavelski, Seguin, or Gurianov & THATS simply too high of a price for a guy that slots into Dallas’ bottom-6; especially when there are guys like Robertson & Kiviranta that will slot into a scoring-depth role.

Not the point. The point is, Pittsburg is interested in those kinds of players.

What about Dermott? The main piece going to the briuns is Dermott, not Simmonds.

That's fine if Dallas doesn't want Hyman, but Hyman is not a bottom 6 winger.

I can see the lightning doing this grabbing a second and renting Bogo for a first little bit steep probably make it Toronto’s 2nd not Carolina’s

no they aren't or they would have already chased him this offseason but they didn;t.
They scrambled looking for help at the end of the year after they moved a guy who was going to cause cap issues if they didn't. Period. They couldn't afford to carry the potential bonus of Kahun. It would have wrecked their cap that was already having problems.

With that fowards group he is really nice 3rd liner but in that group a 3rd liner

What does Kahun have to do with Marleau and Thornton? They got Marleau at the deadline this year, does it not make sense that they would be willing to acquire Thornton, especially when they are virtually getting him for free, this year?

I don't know. I think he's better than Gurianov.

No disrespect a really good third liner is still an awesome player but IMO he’s not in that top 6

More a complete player for sure, but Guri has more potential and greater offensive upside.

That's fair. I'm probably a bit biased, I'm a huge Hyman fan.

I don't disagree. I just don't see him being played above Gurianov, Hintz, Benn, or Radulov on the the Wings when Seguin comes back.

because they lost a winger when they moved Kahun. Marleau ended up being the replacement. The guys they got from BUF were RWs.
Kahun is a LW.
That is why. They took the best of what they could get on the market there.
You keep thinking because they grabbed one they will grab another. That's bad logic. They aren't going after him. This is a team that has openly stated. younger, faster. You simply want to ignore that.

Never said they were going after him. Joe has a NMC so chances are he's not going anywhere. Just saying that for this price, I can't see the pens turning this down.
