No sense for CBJ to do that. PLD was a number 4 over all who has performed like it. Trading a bunch of bottom 1/3 of the draft that hasn't done anything for him isn't going to land him.

I don't think you're going to get PLD without giving up one of Lafreniere or Kakko. Likewise, LA isn't going to get PLD without giving up Byfield.

PLD is getting overvalued hard on here -- this would be a competetive offer. A solid D prospect, a good top 6 forward, a young center with top 6 potential, and a 1st + 2nd with no conditions. Not a bad deal. I think it depends on how much they like Chytil.

100% agree. Some people overvalue players way too much. I’m not saying he’s overrated, but I’ve seen ridiculous offers on here that people think Columbus would decline.

Top defense prospect who projects to be a top pair D, a middle 6 C, and a top 6 RW, as well as a first round pick and a second round pick is not empty quantity by any means. It just so happens that there are multiple pieces but the quality is absolutely there.

I understand that it is quite literally a larger quantity than CBJ is giving, but that's how trades work. Not every trade is one for one lol. Yes there is more in quantity, but it doesn't mean the quality is any less. NYR aren't sending spare parts, they're sending quality prospects and picks.

Well a lot of people disagree with you. There was an article on The Athletic today that quoted an unnamed NHL scout saying that PLD will be a "Top 5 C in the NHL."

clearly not all trades work out to be 1 to 1. But you seem to be missing the point here. You get a known quantity for pieces here. CBJ isn't going to do that as their window is just opening. That is not a team that wants to be in constant rebuild. You fail to realize the situation. They don't need a D prospect. Middle 6 players aren't helping them. There is a bunch of quantity here.
